Its such a shame that those children were hurt today...don't the Lebanese people share the blame with Hezbollah and Israel for allowing this to happen?

My understanding is that Hezbollah controls 1/3 of the Lebanese cabinet...someone voted for these guys.

That said...Israel is not blameless...they share some blame IMO, but do have a right to exist...and all negotiations must start from there.

If I am incorrect on the % of Cabinet...controlled...I do not claim to be an expert.

As far as Islamgy...Do you agree that Jews have the right to have the State of Israel...and would you be satisfied living in peace with them. Israel has shown a willingness for a two state solution...with no right of return (as that would end the Israel state). Both sides have claims to the historic land on which Israel sits.

When most countries go to war, and a country is defeated, boundaries are drawn. Each time Israel has been attack it has defended itself, and unilaterally given land back. Meanwhile many muslims, Hezbollah and Hamas do not recognize Israels right to exist.

Its impossible to negotiate or be fair when one knows that the only solution the other side will accept is your death and the death of all those who believe as you do.

Israel does not have that as a goal for Muslims. Fundamentalists do have that goal for Israel...

I am listening to the news and Israel wants to investigate the bombing that caused all those casualties...I saw a clip from the military showing a truck that appeared to be going into the building that they believe was a rocket launcher. I'm sure more info. will follow.

Both CNN and Fox News have shown how the Hezbollah take the rocket launchers and hide them in after firing them amongst the population. So its something confirmed...its a way of using people as Shields. I have no doubt that some Israelis would argue to hit civilians in Lebanon in retribution and to try to scare Lebanese to kick the Hezbollah out. I believe this is the purpose however...and not the way Israel should conduct its fight with Hezbollah.

Why has the Lebanese Prime Minister not condemned the Hezbollah for its over 4000 rocket attacks of Israel...that started before the Israeli response? It may be a difficult thing to say for him...but morally he should have come out strongly against Hezbollah...and agreed that Israel had a right to exist and ask the UN to help disarm Hezbollah in agreement with the UN resolutions that had been passed.

I think you need to learn to read.

Quote from CNN:

"Spokesman Adam Ereli said the Israelis reserve the right to take action against targets preparing attacks against it during the 48-hour period..."

This does not say they will still attack known or suspected launching sites, just sites that are still launching missiles against them.

Another Quote:
"The building itself was not targeted," Israeli government spokeswoman Miri Eisen told CNN. "The building itself was next to the rocket-launcher sites and we are targeting all of those rocket-launcher sites. This was a mistake and we will have a full investigation."

Figure that every member of Hezbollah has a weapon, and that many innocent Lebanese civilians are unarmed, or are afraid to face up to the terrorists. Maybe some Lebanese civilians don't much like the Israelis anyway. Sure there's a small element of civilian blame, but the Hezbollah terrorists primarily to blame.

I'm not sure the Lebanese people have any say in the matter.

If you are just an uninterested, innocent Lebanese civilian, what are you to do? If you walk up to a Hezbollah commander and demand that he remove his forces from your neighborhood, you'll probably be killed in short order...then your death will be blamed on the Israelis.

as for saying that Hezbollah placed rockets there,it's abviously a big fat lie.
the reason is clarified by the ages of the victims and the mass destruction weapons that they hid under thier sleeping clothes.
it's not about weapons Israel did that in Qana this morning because they know they can't keep striking Lebanon for long(even with all the american coverage)and they felt that they needed to terrify the lebanese and push them to settele to its conditions.so it send a clear msg,if you don't agree we'll wipe you of the face of the earth.

They have no political blame because it's hard to prove that they just "allow" Hezbollah to do these things. They often claim that, for certain specific reasons, they can't just oust them. But morally they do because I feel that, secretly, they need and want Hezbollah to do what it's doing and they just find excuses.

If those people protest, the Hezbollah will just shoot them.

The ultimatum the Hezbollah gives them is this:

"Either you act as our human shields (in which case you might survive) or we just shoot you dead now"

It's not one-third of the cabinet. They have 25/128 seats in the legistlature and three cabinet ministers.
