Yes, but it will be a little more telephoto than it was on your Nikon film SLR.

As Terisu said, it will work just fine. The smaller image circle of the D70 will add 50% to the focal length however. So a 50mm lens effectively becomes 75mm, an 80-200mm zoom becomes 120-300mm, etc.
