They were fighting actual Hezbollah militiamen tooth and nail in Bint Jbail. Why not stay to kick some ***?

From the bits and pieces being reported, it seems that the situation in Bint Jbail wasn't as the Israeli's expected. Rather than ratchet the violence up yet again, they opted to withdraw from the area to prevent even more losses - both civilian and their own.

Of course, by withdrawing, it also allows for more airstrikes without the worry of hitting their own forces.

The fighting isn't over, and I fear it won't be for quite some time, but for now it was at least a somewhat responsible reaction to a rapidly-degenerating situation.

Much of the Hezbollah forces are spread out and intertwined with the civilian population.

They pulled out because they accomplished their objectives there and Hezbollah were repositioning elswhere.

As long as Hezbollah keeps hiding themselves and their weapons/rocket launchers in Mosques and day care centers, the blood of every innocent person killed will be on Hezbollah's hands.

Mission accomplished in Bint Jbail by the IDF. Plus the cowards in Hizbollah will not go face to face with Israel, instead they shoot inaccurate rockets from miles away and they hide behind women and children.
An Israeli soldier stands IN FRONT OF women and children, a Hizbollah terrorist HIDES BEHIND women and children.
