Because Jesus will save us from our own sins, if we let Him.
The U.S.A...??? Do you think the government worships YHWH through Jesus? Does YHWH think so? That is what matters, what God thinks. There are many religions in America. Freedom is very important.
Who is pushing? No one can turn another person. A person only turns when they want to. Christians make the information available. All with different motives. Nevertheless, the Christ is being preached.
Jesus asked his disciples if they wanted to leave him and they said, "Whom shall we go away to? You have the sayings of everlasting life."
I personally need Jesus. If you are really one of his sheep, God will open your heart and mind at the right time.

I certainly don’t believe in the Bible and I doubt any reasonably intelligent person would either. However, if you view the Bible as a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve, Noah, and so on, then you can certainly start to see a clever interwoven plot, that the audience is unaware of. It’s really just a drama thriller with clever twists.
You see, if you seriously think about it in an unbiased manner, then clearly the actor God in the Bible could really be the Devil, and the audience (religious believers) are being sucked into being the bad guys, who then use religion to get everyone fighting each other.
On the other hand, the more intelligent audience (Atheists) spot the plot and try their best to teach believers that this is just nonsense, stop getting sucked in.

It's because they are blind, they don't accept any of the things you have just mentioned, instead they think they can force others to be just as stuck up! I've just put on a question about how to put out charcoal, and because of why I wanted to do this, somebody told me I needed to find love for Jesus?! 8-0 I totally agree with you, but I'm afraid there is no answer, or cure for the irrationality of some religios people.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do. However, most of us differ as to the definition of "good." Let's see if you are! Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. That's how God sees you. Nothing is hid from His holy eyes. The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments? God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. . There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Where are your beliefs leading you too? You know where! For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Repent!

I'm sorry you've met the more pushy Christians. While I think everyone needs Jesus, I'll pray that they find more tactful, less aggrivating ways to advocate.
Just a side note, though--the separation of church and state was enacted to prevent the state from interfering with the church, not the church from interfering with the state.

It works, and satisfies them.
Jesus led me to where I am today. Tree hugging and all. I think the majority of them spout their religiousities because this is an open forum to spout whatever it is you believe to be the 'answer.' and not everyone's answer can be the same.
"...what might be right for you, may not be right for some..and it takes Diffrent Strokes, yeah, different strokes, to rule the world.."
Much wisdom in television sitcom lyrics.
Blessed Be.

Because they are simpled minded sheep being led and don't even know it. they don't know how to think and can't go into much of a detailed, well thought out answer, so they come up with such simple minded cliches. Sadly, many spend their whole lives like that

you are totally ignorant, jeseus was not a man that thought he could talk to god, i can believe in Christianity just on the pure fact that the main opponents to Christianity are people who cant even sum up what christian belief is.

Well, to give them credit, I guess they're saying 'Jesus worked for me, maybe it'll work for you'. They probably don't think it can be taken the wrong way.
I believe the appropriate response in this situation is to say 'you need to get stuffed'... :)
That was just a joke...
