Oh! Poor thing! Biting your tongue is the worst; it hurts like crazy, it swells, and then you have a habit of biting it again because it is swollen and gets in the way.
Have him wash his mouth out with warm salt water to kill any extra bacteria he has in his mouth, that will greatly decrease the chance of infection.Talk him into doing it right away and again before bed or after meals for a day or two. Then give him a Popsicle, the cold will make his whole mouth feel better. If you're worried about choking, mash the Popsicle up in a bowl.
Baby Ambesol is great for stuff like this!

I would give him a popsicle or some icecream. Some motrin or tylenol too should help with the pain. Poor baby! Take care.

Drink very cold beverages whenever it hurts to help numb the pain. Also, there are some OTC meds on the market for mouth sores; ask the pharmacist to reccommend one!

Why don't you put a peice of ice in his mouth and let him suck on it. That's what my mom always did for me and my brother. It really works. It will make the bleeding stop and the pain will go away. Good luck

Kool-aid, jello, anything cold will help. Take heart, the tongue heals faster than any other part of the body.
