The only good way to stop that from happening is to install a deep cycle battery at the rear of the car, and run all of your amps from that battery. Capacitors only store enough power for one good bass note, then you're right back to the headlights dimming. Add a deep cycle battery, plus a battery isolator, and your headlights will never dim, even with your engine not running. And that's with your original alternator.
Part two: if you don't do anything, you'll be buying both alternators and batteries at an amazing rate. Two of each per year isn't uncommon, without a second battery.

Upgrade your alternator, your stock alternator is probably putting out 75-100 amps, you can buy a bolt in upgrade that'll take 15 minutes to install for under $200. People always upgrade batteries and get capacitors but rarely upgrade their alternator, which is the main source of power. This should take care of that dimming problem.

The amp is drawing more power then the aternator can charge. So the alternator is working harder, and it cant keep up with the amount of charge being drawn. Either play it less hard, or, put a new alternator in. A good one costs at least $200.

There are many brands of power capacitors that are fairly cheap. I have an optima battery and a pair of 10" subs with a pioneer 760 and a kicker 702 and I dont have any problems, make sure you use the right power wire and ground wire size that helps also. just my input

your headlights are dimming because of excessive drain on your electrical system, you can either put power caps in or a large battery and alternator-your choice. (the caps are cheaper though)

get a cap, or a better battery or you can buy a better alternator. i had this problem on one of my older cars but that's cuz i was running 4 12's and interiors. sounds like your alternator might be on its way out anyways. so you might want to check on that or make sure the wires that are connected to it are tight--they do come loose sometimes.
