i'm not experienced with dating so sometimes i don't understand certain things......this guy i've been hanging out with used this word "talking" he was saying when people ask whats' going on between us say we're "talking" ....what does that mean?

When a guy says that your talking, it usually just means that he is interested in you and is just kind of like "test driving" you before he decides if he really wants to even date you. Almost every guy (at least the ones I have dated) do this. While you guys are both "talking" its a good chance for you to decide if you even like him enough to date him also.

It means that he doesn't feel the relationship is very serious yet. I think guys say this because they are not ready to admit that they are dating someone. It's a keep your options open kind of thing and if I were you I would ask him in a non-confrontational kind of way how he defines whats going on between you two.

It means you guys are just "hanging out" "getting to know each other" but not yet dating.
If you guys like one another then it would get taken up to "dating" which means he could still be "dating" other girls until you guys decided to become exclusive.

he likes you but he does not want to say you 2 are going out yet he might want to get to now you a little bit better before you got tell every one that you 2 are togather when he does not even now you.

he's interested...shows no commitment but also keeps you as "territory" so other guys know not to go after you
