Salicyclic acid is a keratolytic - this means it breaks down the outer layer of skin, preventing pores from clogging up. Chemically or medically, it is not a bleach although it is (obviously!) an acid.

Salicylic acid is not a bleaching agent.

You may want to test on an inconspicuous part of your clothing to be sure that the preparation you're using doesn't contain substances that bleach.

You're mixing up two different medications. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are different acne medications. The one you're using, benzoyl peroxide, is a bleaching agent, and that's why it's ruining your clothes. Salcylic acid, however, is not a bleaching agent and shouldn't ruin your clothes.

Yes, Salicylic Acid may shorten infection duration. Using OTC creams take months for the infection to go away. Go to the doctor and ask for Imiquimod. Look at weeks using Imiquimod rather than months using Salicylic Acid.

my daughter just recently got over this. we tried that it didn't work. i took her to the dermatologist and they made it worse. finally i found on searching the Internet that soaking a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and putting it on the bump and leaving it there for 24 hours will get rid of it. when you first take off the cotton ball it don't look like it worked, but within a few days it will be gone. believe be this works because we tried the salicylic acid and freezing them off at the dermatologist and medicine i had found on line. this worked and is cheap. i hope this helps because molluscum is a pain

I don't believe so, but it treats acne in a different way which may or may not be effective for you.
