That is due to rain fade: interference of microwaves by the electromagnetic (static) signals emitted by moving storm fronts. You can't do noffin' about it xcept sit the storm out and wait...

Could be not the fault of your tuner but with the broadcasters signal, may be the storm knocked out their signal, don't know for sure. Contact your local broadcast station and see if they have any problems after a storm.

You said " *after* a storm "; was their lightning? If so, it sounds as if your antenna received a voltage surge and may have damaged the RF input to your tuner.
