My moms getting a brand new 2006 Hyundai Elantra very soon. Then shes gonna give me her 2001 Toyota Corolla. When she gives it to me, should i get a 12 CD changer, a radar detector, a remote car starter, and maybe some new speakers in it? And are radar detectors illegal in Massachusetts?

Yes, yes, yes, and maybe. Nothing's illegal until you get caught.

You should only get all of that in your car if everything else that you need in life is taken care of. If it has a CD player that works fine, run with that. If you want a multi disc changer, try a smaller one than 12 disc. Radar detectors are for people who intend to be speeding or breaking traffic laws. If that is you, go for it. If not, it's a waster. A remote car starter is cool, but you could wait until you can get a newer model car that comes with that feature unless you just have to have it. If the old speakers don't bump, then new speakers would be good. Gotta have a booming system. Just prioritize and enjoy!

Speakers definetly, wouldnt worry about the remote starter, and A changer is good. Though I prefer a single cd radio. That way I can change cd quickly when on the go. You never know who is going to be in the car or what mood your in. Oh and hell yeah on the radar detect. Mine has paid for itself more then once. Figure a ticket is around $100. About the price of a decent detect.

Radar detectors/jammers are completely legal in Massachusetts: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Massachusetts+radar+detectors+legal
And don't buy a CD changer. Just buy yourself a nice head unit/receiver/stereo/CD player, or whatever you personally call them. CD changers are junk, and they skip ALOT more than in-dash receivers do. Plus, they cost more than a good Pioneer receiver.
And don't buy a remote car starter, ever. If you want the ability to start your car remotely, buy an alarm that has that feature. It will only cost you slightly more than a stand-alone remote starter, but will protect both your car, and it's contents.

as for the unAmerican thing above, dont listen to him. I fight for america everyday here in Iraq, and when i get home ill drive my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon all the way to the VA line.
Put in a decent stereo, with some good speakers. CD changers.....blah......... they will break hitting some pothole anyways. radar detectors are great.....and as far as the remote started goes.....if its a 5spd make sure its not in gear i learned the hard way....good luck anyways

It is all a huge waste of money. Just stuff for people to steal from you and damage your car breaking into it when they normally wouldn't have bothered.
