If your gonna eat any kinda meat, make it the clean meat. Thats what I did. I only eat ONE type, "organic chicken". My friend calls it "chicken treated w/ respect". LOL It's healthier and it doesnt taste like "dirty" meats like beef or pork. Chickens are awesome creatures. But make sure it is ORGANIC. No growth hormones are injected into these types.

Being vegetarian is a healthy lifestyle, and is becoming more and more simple to pursue with the proliferation of restaurants and specialty grocery stores or large groceries with extensive that cater to th vegetarian lifestyle. Vegetarians should be come very knowledgeable about nutrition. Some vitamin requirements are more difficult to obtain when meat is avoided. So taking a daily supplement with multivitamins with minerals is good idea. It kis easy to become deficient in cobalamin, (vitamin B12), folic acid, (folate), iron etc. Protein consumption is important. Beans, legumes, and dal (pulses) will readily supply that requirement. Or learn the foods that specifically supply those nutrients. Becoming friends with knowlegable vegetarians is a good idea. They have recipes and suggestions that will help you maintain that healthy lifestyle. The internet is another source of information and contacts. Google vegetarian... for more contacts and inforamtion.

See this site under diet to see ways of making it easier to switch, Plus you still could eat some poultry instead of quitting. Then over time, you could consume less and less. That is how I did it. Also click on vegetarian concerns to make sure you are not missing any nutrients.

Also bad carbs like refined wheat bread, pasta. cake and cookies are vegetarian but not healthy. Eat the good carbs as mentioned on this site.

Eating a vegetarian diet can be very healthy if you do it correctly, including many different fruits, vegetables, and grains. There is no reason, though, that poultry and fish can't be included in a healthy, vegetable-rich diet, as long as you choose skinless chicken and prepare it in healthy ways, like light pan frying, baking, or steaming.

Dont become a vegetarian unless you have to. It is not healthier for the body because some vitamins and so forth found in meats are required in the diet.

You are too young to avoid animal fat.
1. Fats are required for the devlopment of brain cells.
2. Some fat soluble vitamines like B and D comes with some fat like dairy food or meat etc.
3. Minerals , specially calcium is very necessary at young age for strong bones.
So do not try to be vegan or start dieting but just keep your weight and waist size under control and get a better shape after 20.

I do not eat meat; but milk, yoghurt and one egg a day.

You should not eat more than one egg a day. and limited animal fat, but if you want to be complete vegan than please take supplement for vitamine 'B' complex.

my teenage daughter decided to go vegetarian about a year ago...it has been such a hassle...she reads the labels on everything..."can't have it...has chicken in it"...it may be good to eat more veggies...but i don't think it is healthy to cut out meat all together...one still needs their source of protein...take supplements...and perhaps only treat yourself to poultry once a week or something...my daughter eats a lot of rice and tofu...if you add enough sage and poultry seasoning you can make it taste just like bird...it's a weird kinda food...you can make it taste like almost anything you want...but here is something i don't understand about people who don't eat meat...(this may not apply in your case)...but it does in my daughter...she still wears things that are made of leather...hmmm...just doesn't' make any sense to me...but perhaps your reasons are different...i dunno...just make sure you take vitamins and things like that...good luck to you

Chicken is not that bad for your as long as it isn't fried and you need protien for daily life. A complete veggie diet is not healthy for you although eating less meat can definately be good. Just don't cut out meat entirely. Your body does need some a day especially if you excersize or owrk out. If you do and don't eat meat your body will self destruct and your muscles will deteriorate.
