- its emphasis on national unity its criticism of the drain of india wealth,its demand for representation institutions and indianization of services,its apportions to repressive measures like the arms act and it constant underscoring of people poverty as the basic factor of indian politics helped to put the nationalist movement on sound foundations.

- moderates defined there aims and demands of indians and prepared them for the national struggle by giving them political and economical agenda.
