There's this guy who is a grade older than me, but is on the drum line with me. I was so sure he liked me because he flirted with me a LOT (I like him) until my best friend (who used to like him but doesn't any more) told me he liked her. She told him they should just be friends. I am new to the school and he is the only person I have a chance of going to homecoming with. Should I tell him that I like him?

In this case, actions speak louder than words. I don't think you need to tell him anything. Just be yourself and be friendly. You can smile, laugh at his jokes, and even flirt a little. You won't have to say a word. He'll get the message eventually, if he hasn't already.

Don't listen to what other people tell you. Sometimes even a "best friend" can give you the wrong information. Maybe she's a little jealous of the attention you're getting from this guy, and that's why she's saying he likes her. In other words, she's telling you in a roundabout way, that she wishes you'd leave him alone. At your age, all's fair in love and war -- although I hope it doesn't come to that. She's still your best friend, and you can listen to her and even agree with her. But the final decision, whether to go to the homecoming dance if he asks you, is yours.
Good luck, dear.

Yes you should tell him, because if held back to long you could lose him, so just make conversation and throw the fact that you like him in there aight. If he is not feeling you a least you got your feelings out and heard. But don't let that get you down. Okay so go for it...take risks...you will survive

Do you like him only because is a way to go to homecoming? As for your friend.....be careful of friends where love is involved. If they are not going out together then he is free to chose

Of course, if you are very sure of it. But maybe he would go to homecoming just to make your friend jealous? question for thought.
