Is this a fundamentalists Christian cult trying to destroy Judiasm (and every other religion) by trying to converting us all to Christianity or convincing us there really is no other religion than Christianity?

Is "Muslims for Jesus" next?

"Jews" for Jesus are not Jews!
Messianic "Jews," are not Jews!
Messianic "Judaism" is not Judaism!

Many people, Christians and some Jews as well, erroneously believe that just as one can be Black and Christian, just as one can be Oriental and Christian, one can also be Jewish and Christian. It is not true. The Jews are not a race. There is no genetic code passed from either mother or father to the child that makes that child a Jew. Even if all, or some, of the genetic code in a child could be proved to be of Jewish Origin, that would not make the child a Jew. Jewish law determines who is a Jew, and Jewish law is quite clear. If a person's mother is a Jew, and that person has not converted to another faith, then that person will be considered fully Jewish, so long as that person wishes to identify solely as a Jew. Although one cannot convert to become a member of a race, one who converts to Judaism does, indeed, become fully a Jew. Similarly, if one converts from Judaism to another faith, one is no longer a Jew.

Messianic "Judaism" is a product of the successful missionizing campaign of such ministries as the "Jews" for Jesus, who try to make it look as though one can be a Jew and a Christian at the same time. By definition, one who believes in Jesus as their savior is a Christian. One who accepts Jesus as anything other than a man who once lived, but died without doing anything the Real Messiah will do when he gets here (hence the reason for a Second Coming!), is a Christian and no longer a Jew.

The Orthodox Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, writing for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, for the National Conference of Synagogue Youth, the Orthodox Youth Group, in his book The Real Messiah, on page 21 wrote:

"""This brings us back to our original question:
What can a Jew lose by embracing Christianity?

The answer is: Everything.

Christianity negates the fundamentals of Jewish
faith, and one who accepts it rejects the very
essence of Judaism. Even if he continues to keep
all of the rituals, it is the same as if he
abandoned Judaism completely.

A Jew who accepts Christianity might call himself
a "Messianic 'Jew,'" but he is no longer a Jew.
He can no longer even be counted as part of a
Jewish Congregation."""

We Jews define for ourselves who is and who is not a Jew, and not the Jewish wannabees, and the targets of this newest technique in missionizing Jews.

The majority of the membership of Messianic ""Jewish"" congregations, as a matter of fact, were not ever Jewish up until recently, and this is also true about their Messianic ""rabbis."" Many of these "rabbis" change their names to something that sounds stereotypically Jewish, in order to better target those they want to convert to Christianity.

As the success of this newest technique in missionizing the less knowledgeable Jews increased, the percentage of membership of ex-Jews as members of their messianic congregations has also increased, now running about 50-50.

It is also interesting to note that a large number of people converting TO Judaism have come to Real Judaism from having been exposed to Messianic ""Judaism.""

At a messianic congregation, all references to Christian theology has been changed to make it sound more Jewish, and therefore more pallatable to their targets. They will only refer to Jesus as 'Yeshua' (which would not have been his name), they will say 'moshiach' instead of 'christ,' they will say 'synagogue' instead of 'church,' and on and on, in keeping with the techniques described in the book Understanding Church Growth by Donald MacGavran, who helped the idea of Indiginous Cultural Evangelism get started.

The services will sound very Jewish, usually a lot of (mispronounced) Hebrew, and prayers will have been changed to add the Christian theology of Jesus to them, again, to make the service more familiar to their targets.

Remember that these messianic congregations need member$hip, and so they also target those Christians who want to know more about the ""Jewish roots"" of Christianity as well.

When a Catholic converts to a Protestant denomination of Christianity, do they join a church and call themselves "Roman Catholics For No Pope"? This whole idea, that one can remain a Jew after converting to Christianity, was a technique to better missionize Jews, begun in the 1960's. What an insult to Christianity, that to get Jews to convert to Christianity, they had to stop calling themselves what they became:: Christians!

The two ideas, Judaism and Christianity, are NOT mutually exclusive. Judaism is "The monotheistic religion of the Jews, tracing its origins to Abraham and having its spiritual and ethical principles embodied chiefly in the Hebrew Scriptures and the Talmud." Notice how the definition hinges not on the coming of the Messiah or the waiting for said person. I am a Messianic Jew, and I describe myself as such namely because I was raised Jewish and I believe that the OT is NOT done away with, and when God says to practice "these things" forever, He really does mean forever. The New Testament is primarily the clarification and commentary of the OT and Jesus, as stated in John 1:1;14 is the embodiment of the Word of God, the culmination of the Law and the Prophets, etc. So, yes, I can be described as a Christian because I believe that Jesus was the Messiah, but I am also a Jew. "A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God." (Romans 2:28-29)

I doubt Muslims for Jesus will ever exist since He is a prophet in that religion, but Mohammed was the greatest prophet. Their religion doesn't teach of a coming messiah or one who will die for many, as Judaism does.

Oh my God! There is always the one voice out there ringing in the distance that just feels the need to be heard so badly that they will bash anything for attention! And stirr up a hornets nest to sit back & watch the spoils and the spats...

Jesus Christ was the living amendment to the old testament laws of God. Jesus was a jew and His life and sacrifice was FOR the very reason you question here so blatantly and with such a horrible intent. God did what He did to bring the Jews together in ONE ACCORD! There is therefore nothing wrong with the concept of Jews for Jesus. They may actually be the only organized group that has it right. God loves the Jews, they are His people and God gave His son (A jew) to ammend and bridge the distances between them and everyone else.

The Jews had a problem with it naturally and the religions were created and then split. Honestly... I believe that religion is the greatest trick of the Devil. (either figuratively or literally whichever you prefer) Conceptionally... Religion was the easiest way and the most intelligent tactical way to divide the people and pit them against one another. It was a brilliant pollitical move and all Mel Gibson was trying to say (and miserably failing at it due to the media) was that the jews alive at the time of Christ's crucifixation were the ones responsable for the christian religion. It was brought about to keep the peace.

"A house divided against itself will fall." It is apparent and obvious wisdom and truth! and a very smart thing to do if you want pollitical and religious control of people who do not want to believe in the "Old ways." as the Jews decided to do.

Don't get me wrong... I think Gibson is a zealot and a poster child for all that is in error in the Catholic Church but I do not believe he either blames or hates the Jews. Jesus Christ was a jew!

Maybe the monikers are the problem, I don't know? Maybe we should just stop calling things by name to categorize them and muddle around with the generalizations and the inbred outdated human need to group and categorize EVERYTHING like life should fit neatly into some iconoclastic rolly-kit.

Come on now... Don't blurt. Think before you speak.

" White" Christians?" Why might that make a change to such a lot right here in how one thinks as on your remark? God chooses humans by means of their middle situation that used to be proven even within the Hebrew Scriptures. As a organization he used to be displaying them desire than due to the fact they have been almost always those giving the only actual God devotion. Who's "middle" used to be towards him . They weren't stored simply being a Jew and no different cause. You mistakes to your pondering there And what proof is that "Proves This" ( them being the selected--your publish) are you speaking approximately?

You are just asking this now? This was formed in 1973. I'm not really sure what I think about this right now. The group was formed to get Jews to believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, which He is.

The Jews are God's people. I just don't know what to think about this yet. It is not to "convince everyone there is no other religion than Christianity" let's be serious. However, Jesus is the only way and His sacrifice on the Cross is the only way to make us to get to Heaven.

A Jew can convert to Christianity-that was the main mission of Jesus. There are a peculiar little group, but they are straight as an arrow- don't forget-they are Jews. All Jews seem different. They are okay.

Yes I agree it is probably the fundies at it again. They have also invaded the Neopagan community trying to come up with something like Christian Paganism or Wiccan Pagans...but it is all a bunch of fundy crap bent on destroying everything that is not Christian fundamentalism.

Actually, there is a "Jews for Islam", and they make just as much sense (namely, none) as "jews for jesus".
They are an exceptionally deceptive missionary group bent on converting all jews (and non-jews, I might add). Most of them are not jewish in any way at all.

I just wish they'd fess up and call themselves christians.

Jesus was a Jew, wasn't he?!? So they are just acknowledging Jesus' birthrate.

Jews for Jesus' official mission statement is "to make the Messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide."

I doubt there will be any Muslims for Jesus

People have the freedom of religion. "Jew for Jesus" is merely for Jewish people who want to accept Jesus and yet keep up the traditions of Judaism. What's wrong with that?
