Yes, there are clear molded retainers that stay permanently behind your teeth. A friend has them and she says that she doesn't even notice them!

About a comment before, about the braces. Those are to straighten your teeth, but once taken out, your teeth can shift again.

I use an invisalign type of retainer. I wear them three times a week at night. They are alright. Easy to use. Don't hurt after the first few wears.

yest there is. i went through braces and after they took them off for good, they glued in a retainer behind my 4 bottom teeth. they might do it to my upper ones too.

Modern braces are made out of a light see-through plastic that aren't so obvious. Good luck

yup . now days dentist can fix retainers lingually ( behind your anterior teeth's) so that they neither come out nor become visible.
