That was a different time . We were a more innocent Nation then .
In some ways this generation is more cynical and have seen many killings on TV News and games . Blood means nothing to them now , just get up and play another day .
This generation doesn't know what it is to sacrifice and they haven't ( for the most part ) had to do without anything they want .
Back in those days Americans put their country before anything else and they all pulled together for the good of their nation .

This generation is about to step up to the plate and fight wars that are essentially left over conflicts that went unresolved for 60 years. I would remind the pinhead who think they are not up to the task that their lives depend on this generation doing more then the World War II generation did. Can they do it? They are going to have to.

Its not whether the current generation of soldiers could do it, but whether or not the public would stomach it, the media would be unbiased, and the liberals would allow it.

The bombing of German cities would raise outrage, Hitler would be portrayed as misunderstood, and a good ruler for his people.

Internet conspiracy and blog sites would portray the concentration camps as holiday camps, and offer "evidence" that Roosevelt had bombed Pearl Harbor himself to justify attacking the Japanese.

No. The first thousand that died would cause a hundred protests to erupt, until we pulled out altogether, even if it resulted in all of us having to learn German, and millions more dying.
Snowy had an awesome answer, BTW, and I think they're entirely correct.

Not a snowball's chance in hell.

This generation is too concerned with immediate gratification and placing their desires above the needs of the society and world.

It used to be: God, Country, Family and Self.

Now, it's: Self, "My version" of God, Self, Family, Self, "My backyard", and (maybe) country.

Yes because those of us who have fought still have the guts like our grandparents. In fact we should institute mandatory service to lift those sorry sacks who think they should get something for nothing.

since we have highly advanced weaponry compared to the ones they had in the past, and since we know everything that's going to happen, then yeah.
