Generally you find a hard time balancing your emotions. You are either VERY high (manic) or very low (depressive) and not generally anything in between. And you can swing between the highs and lows very quickly and easily.

my ex-boyfriend is bi-polar. i say ex, b/c last night he hit this extreme low point and broke up with me, based off of basically nothing. you hit extreme highs and lows....your emotions go everywhere all the time. this is often cured with medicine. i'd suggest you see someone to check whether you DO have it or not. *hug* i hope all works out for you. remember, there's no shame or blame in seeking help professionally. IM or email if you want to talk some more.

well it depends, ok at one moment you can be happy and everything and then with in the next 5 minutes you could be very depressed, and may even try to hurt your self. which isn't good at all because i am dealing with self-harm too.
