It's very difficult to intercept a missile.

Maybe a better question is why Hezbollah hides its missiles within civilian populations ... making them a target ... and why they fire those missiles from within civilian areas.

I think Israel has shown a great deal of restraint in not flattening all of southern Lebanon in order to destroy those missiles they know will soon be fired against Israel.

But, apparently, that sort of critical though might not be up your alley ... since all you can think of is blaming Israel.

My point of view on your first question:

If isreal has such a strong army then why cant it stop the Katushas rockets fired by Hezbollah forces?
The rockets are extremely mobile and can be launched pretty much from anywhere. The range of these missiles is fairly long giving an ENORMUS area that you would have to cover and surveillance at all times while in a hostile zone. Hezbollah militants look just like normal civilians, and they use those civilians as human shields and to pressure other countries into forcing Isreal to cease and desist. You honestly dont believe that Isreal would blow up 56 civilians with a very expensive weapon, knowing the rest of the world is going to scream and throw a fit, on purpose.

My opinion on the second question
If isreal lost the war with the Hezbollah would they admit it.
In war there are only losers so they have lost. You just hope your side is the less of a loser than the other. Isreal cannot afford to be the major loser of this war, as losing this war would mean the collapse of their whole country. It would be over-run by Muslim radicals. Once Isreal fell, other countries would soon follow as the Muslims would be able to attack much weaker countries and destroy them. So the rest of the world has in interest in making sure that Isreal does not collapse. Isreal is a buffer against the radical Muslims.

And my opinion to your third question
iran and syria VS Usa and Isreal is it enough for WW3 to start? It is my belief that the war on terrorism is WW3 as terrorist attacks every country. So we are in WW3 in my opinion, and just other countries will join it.

Good questions I enjoyed answering them.

Good question. I'll try to answer it as best I can.

In response to your first question, rockets are very hard shoot down. There are two things that mainly determined your ability to intercept and shoot down a rocket, altitude and distance. They generally fly at a low altitude and at very high speeds. In order to intercept a rocket, or missile for that matter, you must first be able to detect it on radar. If the rocket can be locked on radar, then antimissile countermeasures can be launched against it in an attempt to shoot it down. However, because rockets generally are low-flying weapons then they are mostly undetected by radar. This prevents Israel from not only knowing where a rocket is going, but also from having any chance of shooting it down.

The second problem with shooting down missiles and rockets is distance. Even if the weapon is detected on radar, if there's not enough distance between the weapon and your countermeasures, then any attempt shooting down the weapon will be futile at best. Israel is fighting an enemy which is right next door to it. Any rockets that they fire will be too close for any countermeasures to intercept. Just to give you an example, if a missile is fired from North Korea to the United States, even though it would have to travel hundreds of miles over the Pacific Ocean, in order to have a chance of shooting it down the US would have to fire multiple missiles against it with a hope that one of them will intercept the enemy missile.

Now, in response to your second question concerning Iran and Syria versus the USA and Israel. If these four countries become involved then yes I do believe that it is enough to actually began World War III. I say this not as a doomsday scenario, but as a possibility of actual reality. Iran has a close ally of both Russia and China, who are both allies of North Korea. If Iran calls on their allies for help and Russia and China and North Korea become involved in the war, then of course the United States and Israel will call on their allies. These include mainly Great Britain and the other nations of the European Union. Of course many other allies of the various nations will join in the conflict as well if asked. A conflict of this scale will undoubtedly be referred to as World War III.

That's just all hope that the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah can be resolved without interference from Iran and Syria. I hope my response has answered your question.

Shooting down missles in air has not been perfected, and probably never will be. It is true that israel has a formidable army, but stopping rockets in air is something even the US has not perfected.

Because catching a missile in flight is a tough proposition.
