9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:9-11 (New King James Version)

How do I know this isn't symbolic language?

This is an example of heavenly sarcasm. Men of Galilee, WHY why do you stand gazing into heaven...

To anyone standing there as a witness to the events, these two would appear as either blind or foolish, unless they were trying to make a point that most people miss...

Jim....baiting Xians on Sunday is doomed to failure. Aren't they all off worshipping their fictional deity today?? Any of the ones who are hanging around yahoo can't really be true christians, and won't be able to put up a half way rational argument. Oh wait....none of them can anyway. Never mind.

Read something on other dimensions.
From Gods perspective the 3rd dimensions is like us looking at the 2nd dimension.
The earth would appear as flat as a pancake.

I guess when that last trumpet sounds and then you see Him you could ask.

Basically, the men of Galilee were being told that as "Christ" arose he will "Return."

CHRIST has Died
CHRIST has Risen
CHRIST will come again!
It is that simple :)
