Do you think people would do the same thing they did 2000 years ago and kill the messenger and then change the message and put it down in writing? If Jesus told us all are saved, would we react egotistically and selfishly and respond with anger like the 'good' son in the Prodigal Son parable who didn't like the idea of Uncondtional Love and its all-inclusivity?

Jesus already did a lot of what you are saying from the safety of a book called the course in miracles. I was sceptical at first but soon recognized the unmistakable love that radiated from the message jesus has for us in this book.
I have actually worn out the first copy of this book and gotten a second copy.

Dear Billthedude: I think we are too intellectual today to react like Ancient Man when there was a great deal of superstition and ignorance amongst the common people. No - we would not kill the messenger in the flesh today, in my opinion. Secondly, the messenger is still alive and well and still around. He enters your thinking as Spirit.
Today, Jesus would not say anything about "All are saved" due to just his Presence. You see, the work for Jesus and his disciples (even today) and through The Holy Spirit, is that each individual soul or spirit-mind must be taught, worked with, cleansed and purified in it's thinking/mind to be saved. That is what "Saved" means: You are no longer lost due to HOW YOU THINK and see things. You have been taught truth, made clear. You have, through the Grace of Jesus and The Holy Spirit, been cleaned out - from all the toxic thinking and lower thoughts of Man. That is why you feel "washed clean." That is why you see now, through the eyes of Christ. That is why you are purified and are now able to return Home unto the Presence of God. You can stand in His Presence. Unclean in your thinking processes, you can NOT stand before Him for you are unequal to Him. Purified, you are returned to what He Created. You are part of Him - You are able to be in His Presence as the natural being He created like Himself.
This painstaking, hard work that Jesus and the Holy Spirit perform, is done on one soul at a time (so to speak). When you are cleansed and think as They think and as your Father thinks - you do not get egotistically and selfishly angry. You do NOT resent the idea of Unconditional Love and it's absolute inclusion; the very nature of cleaning up your mind CAUSES opposite feelings and thoughts.

What would the "Religious Right" Republican Party do to a man who became very powerful with the following message: "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven." ?
the GOP would have Jesus drawn & quartered on the White House lawn.

Sadly, yes, there are people who would try.
Humans have a hard time believing someone who is standing right in front of them. They would rather place their faith in imaginations they create.
However, we were told that the next time Christ returns, He will come in a blaze of glory. That every head shall bow and every knee shall bend. No one will be able to doubt his divinity.
Yet, in spite of this, there still will be some people who will retain their stubborness and ego. They will refuse Him still.
Human nature is a curious thing. I'm still learning and trying to understand it.
