Is the movie "The Dark Crystal" an explanation to walking the path to enlightenment?

I just watched the movie with a brand new set of eyes today. Your thoughts? I love the part when they touch and absorb each other's experience, now that's genius.

I suppose that you could read lots of things into it. In the end though, it's just a puppet show.
