The bible (OT) is a collection of early myths handed down by the religious leaders of the Jews. They may be loosely based upon historical fact, but are mostly embellishments, exagerations and outright lies. The NT is a work of fiction based upon a mythilogocal person who was allegedly alive 2000 years ago. It has gone through many revisions and changes as the power elite need to control the masses.

Cause it's just a book. Both are written by men.
It seems the fundamentalists in this forum are more interested in the beliefs that extend beyond what the bible says anyways. They just want to be right, and everyone else wrong. the parts of the bible that do not merge with their beliefs are discarded, while the small fragments that support their homophobic, racist agendas are spewn out over and over.
That's why I decided to start flushing all the holy books at:

There was a Jew that said he was the Messiah, and fulfilled the prophesies in the Old Testament to prove He was and is.
He came to gather His people who are of every race but of the same heart. That includes Jews. That's how the Universal Christian Church began.
He started His ONE Church. Now we have 40,000+ churches.
Pat Robertson is included in them.

well, christians will say that "the early christians were jews". This is true, but they also represented an extremely tiny minority. (More Jews beleived that Sabbatai Zvi was the messiah that those who believed in jesus.) The overwhelming majority of jews never believed in jesus or christian theology. So, clearly the "jesus was jewish" argument isn't a valid reason.

Interesting point which no doubt will get some irate and some gentle correction from the fundamentalist crowd.
The problem is, starting any sentence with "...the bible says...." automatically renders anything that follows irrelevent. As the bible itself is an irrelevant work of fiction

And let's not forget - Jesus was a Jew and his followers called him "rabbi" (teacher). So, doesn't it stand to reason that the true religion in the world is Judaism and not whatever it is that they're practicing?
