Your question is an interesting one, but it contains a logical flaw or two. First, it assumes that "every single person" asking or responding to a question in the religion section is a crackpot. You must first establish that to be true before you ask "why" it is true. In order to do this, you would have to examine not only each question and response, but each person who had written them in respect of your idea of "crackpot." Of course, that would require that you have a very sound definition of crackpot.

By that logic you are a weirdo or a crackpot for asking this question in this section, and so am I for answering it!
Is that really what you wanted to say?

Its apparent, they are saying something you don't want to hear or believe in. Those people that are genuinely connect with God are different then the normal person you speak to day in and day out. They don't think in earthly terms. There life is more spiritual then most can comprehend. But this does not make them a weirdo or a crackpot. Their generally above our demeanor, which makes it harder to connect with then, unless we share the same values in life on our spiritual needs. Just" live and let live".

Probably because these people should be reading their Bible, Koran, Torah, Tibetan Book of the Dead, Upanishads, etc., or attending the religious service of their choice, or they are finding a channel for their otherwise very repressed and closeted existence.
Pray for them.

Because people would have to be crazy to take the time to answer these questions. Especially those who answer questions that they asked to NOT answer. I don't post on Christian questions, because I don't believe I could answer that question and be helpful. What would I say- "CONVERT TO GODDESS WORSHIP! OR KALI WILL SMITE THEE!!!"
Yeah. Totally unconstructive.

They're not. They're just searching for answers just like the rest of us. You have no right to criticize other people for their religious beliefs (or lack thereof). What people believe is there own business.
