Yes, I think that Mexicans should be able to come and go as though they are Americans. but only if they where to abide by our rules and regulations. my husband is Mexican and was deported last Oct. he was raised in Cali. since he was 3 months old. we have 6 kids all together. since he has been deported. I ended up on welfare and state assistance. If he was up here. we would not be on welfare and there would be 7 people that the people of my state would not have to pay for. When there was the both of us here. he would work during the day and i would work during the night. so that we would not have to pay a babysitter. I found a babysitter to watch my kids so that i can work and it will cost me almost $1200. a week. how can i myself afford that. and i live in south city, saint Louis, Missouri?

First of all Mexico has its own government culture and language. Witch no Mexican is willing to give up on. As corrupt as our government is the Isa's isn't better than ours it is corrupt in different ways alto less evident. Its not in the government its in the economics.since most of the worlds money is going into wars there is an economical crisis both hear and in Mexico. and even if Mexico were to join the US it wouldn't stop immigration.Immigrants come from all over south and central America too

No because they are too screwed up to fix. It would be 10 times worse the the reunification of Germany. The east is still lagging far behind the West. Imagine how long and how much it would cost to try and fix Mexico. Of course in order to fix Mexico all Mexicans would need to be sterilized.

Unfortunatley I don't think the people of Mexico want too and I don't think the people of the United States want them too. Its that simple.
From my stand point I'm opposed because the country of Mexico's government (at local and regional levels mostly) is seriously corrupt. When I studied economics in college and did a class on business in Mexico we were taught to include pay offs to local officials....we don't need a "state" like that in our nation.

Used to be open land to roam whenever and wherever.
Then came the invasion of Europeans and their must separate, kill and enslave survivors mentality.
Should the U.S. merge with Mexico? Or Mexico merge with U.S?
Regardless of what country your are from, politicians are corrupt ! Have been and always will be. Unless, the people make a change!

It already is,but they want to make the US part of Mexico, not the other way around.
Or haven't you noticed the rise in crime rates and the increasing problems of unemployment in areas with large numbers of illegals.
And the US PAID Mexico for the areas taken when the US WON the Mexican American war. Then it BOUGHT more land in what is now Arizona. We didn't TAKE any of it.

Yeah that's exactly what this govt wants, but its a secret and many Americans have there heads in the sand. They won't face what this govt really wants to do....
They want to form a state with Mexico and Canada. Think about it....
They don't enforce our borders, what will it do to our economy to merge with Canada and Mexico? What will it do to our freedoms to merge with Mexico and Canada? What about the constitution, will Mexico and Canada be forced to adopt it? Or will we water it down for the sake of fairness with those countries? Because they have there own constitutions and forms of govt.
Who will really benefit? The people? No, govt. and big business....

Mexico has too many problems with poverty, low education, corruption and disease for me to want them as part of the US. We'd have to spend billions and billions and billions to bring them up to even our standards of poverty. Think of the millions of families that would automatically qualify for welfare and food stamps. And then there's the language barrier. Would we run trial courts in two languages?
Sorry, but I don't want to give up 75% of my paycheck to taxes, which is what I'd have to do if we annexed them. Better that they take some of the money from the mexican drug lords and robber barons to finance a better life for the country.

You should have asked Sam Houston that when he was in Mexico. Anyway, moving the border farther south only widens the border to guard. It's global economy you should be look at, among others.
