It SOUNDS like the scanner may be defective. *IF* it is, there's nothing you, yourself can do about it and the cost of having it repaired compaired to simply buying a new one is prohibitive....

ONE thing you can try before you think about buying a new scanner is:

1: Go to the Scanner's Manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers and software for your scanner model.

2: UNinstall the drivers and software.

3: SHUT DOWN your computer, *NOT* Restart.

4: Wait 2-5 minutes BEFORE restarting computer.

5: Restart computer and then install the NEW drivers and software according to the manufacturer's instructions. SOME require that you NOT have the scanner plugged in when installing the drivers, software..... SOME require that you DO have the scanner plugged in...

READ THE FACTORY INSTRUCTIONS!

You scanner may be broken. The head may not be correctly scanning the documents and makes it blue. Get a new scanner.
