I have sensitive skin, and I use a basic Philips shaving machine, with crappy results. My question is how can I improve my shave- upgrade to a better machine (like the ones with moisturizer and all the hi-tec stuff), or should I simply start using a razor and shaving gel?

Just to clarify things, I'm a guy. :-)

Razor is best. I like the Mach3. I have RRRREEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY sensitive skin. I suggest you go to a barber shop. You can get a good shave and ask for pointers. There is a place called the art of shaving. For 40 bucks they shave you and teach you. I have yet to go. 40 is a lot for me. I look forward to it.
P.S. Thank you for still shaving despite problems instead of growing a cheesy beard.

my husband has a very thick beard and very sensitive skin, so he can't shave with razors either; just ends up cutting the heck out of his skin whenever he's tried.

The electric shavers--we've tried them all over the years and how expensive it is or how much lotion or self-cleaning it does...has very little to do with how well it actually shaves. So save your money. lol But he uses two electric shavers (one just doesn't ever cut it, no matter how well it's supposed to work, it never does). One with the three round heads on it (Remington) and the other one the kind with the straight shaving head on it (please tell me you know what I'm talking about, cause I don't know what they're called LOL). It's a bit time consuming, but it works. His face is very soft after he shaves. Oh, he also puts a bit of babypowder on his face before shaving.

There is a new Aveno Shaving gel and its awesome! no red bumps or scaley skin after you user it and it also helps you not have to shave as often. I have the cream from Aveno too that helps reduce the need to shave. I dont know how it works but it does and my legs actually look nice for the first summer of my life!

way better results than with an electric
