I would be extremely upset! Why? Because I have spent their entire lives trying to do what is best for them and teaching them to make a Good Education their top priority in life. We all have our arguments about pot use, should it be made legal? It is better than consuming alcohol...blah...blah...blah....it makes you LAZY...it makes you forgetful....why introduce something into your life that will most likely become a crutch? You want a good life? You want nice things? You want to be able to go places and see things? Focus on your education, strive for a healthy body and mind and don't be so interested in getting "high" Please learn to have a good time without the use of drugs and alcohol! Maybe you feel that euphoria for a little while, but you look like an *** to others!

First, at this time, marijuana is still an illicit drug and I'm not going to condone my child doing anything illegal. Second, I've worked in pain management for over 14 years. While I've seen some positive use of marijuana, I still see ill effects of the long term use of it. Also, these are people who used all of the legal prescription drugs and reached a point where they were no longer effective for them... it wasn't a choice of being rebellious.

I don't think "upset" is quite the word I'd use. I'd be angry, sad, shocked, worried...
Pot's not harmless. It damages the smoker's lungs and brains, and is a gateway drug to more harmful substances. It could lead to failing in school, loss of friends, loss of a job, or worse, jail. All of that would make it harder for my children to have a decent chance at a good life later; it would be such a waste.

I would be upset. I have taught my kids that they will be making choices when they get into their teens and that is was not a good one. I have talked about drugs and the draw to do what your friends may choose to do. Hopefully, they would be smart enough to know that this will only make life harder for them. I also have told them that if they get put in jail for drugs, they will stay there. I will not come to their aid.

I would be upset, I think we've raised our kids to know right from wrong. I don't think it is okay to do drugs, but I also think kids have to make a few mistakes. My husband on the other hand would kill them!
