this was 6 years ago and you are just now asking this? lol, anyways that y2k thing was the turn of the milenia from 1999 to the year 2000, and alot of people thought the world was going to end for some strange reason, and if not the world ending they at least thought all computer systems were going to crash, anyways, nothing happened, the new year came and went without a hitch

Actually in earlier days when people start using computers as a business tool they were using only 2 digits in the date field for example in place of 2006 they were using 06.

So the problem was with the computers with 2 digit date format as it would have shown 2000 as 00.

But before time most of the older databases and computers were updated to accept 4 digit date format.

So nothing happened.

Like many things there was a lot of uneducated hype in the press, but in practise the computer industry was on top of the problem and resolved it.

There were one or two minor glitches around Y2K, but nothing serious.

My husband is in the computer field and said nothing would happen. We just laughed at everyone who thought it would be a problem. Truthfully, we didn't buy anything ahead of time.
