Whichever manifest of mans interpretation of a so called 'God' you read they all proclaim peace, yet their followers do war. Maybe it is the religions that are the messangers of the devil, they bring on violence yet proclaim peace. Living in england I have watched Irish religions commit many murders in the name of there 'god' Can anyone explain this?

Irish religions? Druidism? No, the Druids don't do that.

I believe you're talking about Catholicism and Protestantism.

:D

Unfortunately, they cannot all agree on one interpretation of an old book that was written centuries after the person the book talks about died.

Actually not all religions preach peace. Many, such as, Christianity have war and destruction built-in.

What is interesting is to ask the question. What purpose does religion serve?

Controlling the masses? Providing no answer (God's will) to those who only want to be lead?

In my opinion many of us would be better off without the demon of religion. In other words, do you really need a supernatural entity to tell you to be good.

So you never heard of the Devil. He's the opposite of God. He causes warfare in the Heavenly realms also.

So You say the whole world didn't support stopping Hitler, Lenin, Idi Amin, Osama Bin Laden?

The French Revolution was God inspired. The American Revolution, should we have just continued paying higher and Higher taxes to the King here in the States.

Should we have allowed slavery to continue?

The bible said that god is our only peace, but when you look at religion that is what will always be the problem you have to look to god because he is the one that has all the answers not religion and not man, not everyone that say that they are Christians or they are religious that you will fall for that because their are many false witness who claim that they are doing things in Jesus name and they are not they are just hiding behind the cross but we still cannot condemn them we have to pray for them

Do you think that you can understand the mind of God? If He gave you the answer could you understand the depths of it? It is not my faith so much as it is God's faith and it is not so much that I believe in Him but that He believes in me. Doesn't matter so much where I'm at on the list of believers. Just so long as He will know me forever and never ban me from His existence. If I'm happy in knowing one thing right now it is that Jesus died for my sins and made atonement. I've been reconciled (past tense) to God while I was still a sinner. Live by the power now of the Holy Spirit. It's all in His Word.
I was tempted to say "Good question....next question please", but it's all about God-Word=Jesus=Holy Spirit=Eternal Life.

All religions don't speak of peace. All religious followers don't do war. Your question makes no sense.

Politics run the world, not religion. But in the middle east, there are "holy wars" or jihad. I don't know of any god who wants his people to kill others for their religion.

You constantly provide evidence for the non-existance of God. Given the srife and misery in the world today you'd think that he/she/it would have intervened to square his/her/its creations away. Hasn't happened yet, and probably isn't. PEACE!

Religions are basically "gangs"... they are for their own members interests and like to consider themselves as being special in God's eyes. the world would be a better place without them. JMHO
