Having a 6 month old baby, is dificult, since there are not many places where you can take the baby. I believe you should try to spend time with your boyfriend, having fun togheter even at home, you know rent some nice movie, play some games, or have some friend for a barbecue at home, who have kids the same age as your.
You have to take it easy, because of the baby, but once he is older, you could make a lot of things. I live in Mexico, and inhere we always have some parks, or rivers, or forest, around the citties, where we used to go in family to have lunch, and to play games, run, walk, or even swim, there must be some places where you can go and have fun with your kids, while taking them out of the citty, and having some fresh air.
Or you can even include them in some games at home, when you cannot go out, monopoly, Who, those kind of games.
With the baby, you can do things like art! you can make paintings using your hands and finger, the baby will love to paint with his body, and you and your boyfriend, will enjoy seen his laugths! you can both paint with him, and even include yor 8 years old.

I suposse you and your boyfriend used to have other kind of fun, before tthe baby, but a baby changes everything, and you have to accept it, and be concious of your new situation.
I suggest you to ,maybe find new friends, who have babies, as you do, so you can share time, ideas, and worries with that kind of persons, i know for my own experience.
If you used to hang out with single friends, youwill become sort of frustrated, since they will keep inviting you to the kind of things you did before de baby, butyou wont be able any more, for a long time!!!
You need to try to have some time with your boyfriend as before, try to get a nanny or some friend to take care of the babies, at least, ones a month, so you can go out to dinner, or to dance with your boyfriend, or whatever you use to do before the baby. So you both don´t get so tired of the family life, wich can be very exhausted!

When my kids were younger, we would do church on Sunday and then go to a relatives house for awhile. Sometimes we'd have everyone over to our house and just order pizza. We'd play games (cards or board game) or just sit and talk.

We'd also go to the zoo, to a park, to the local forest preserve and walk on the trails, and sometimes I'd just fix a picnic for us and we'd go to the local park and put down the blanket under a nice big tree, turn on the radio, and lay around, talk, sing, play with the baby, and eat!

Our local high school had family swim day for awhile and then when it quit the YMCA had family swim days too and we'd take the baby and go there for awhile.

Well we go to church in the AM and then it is usually dinner at grandparents house or we do something her with friends and family and since it is the summer we usually spend the afternoon swimming and we adults play a game called Washer Boards.. It's like horse shoes but a lot fun!!

Well, you could: go to the park (if there's a duck pond around, the baby might find that interesting). Take along the baby's favorite toys. Put down a blanket...sit on it and play with the baby. If there are other parents around, you could talk with them. Even at your son's age, he will probably notice other little ones his age and be fascinated by them. Bring snacks.

If you have a backyard, go outside. Can you set up a little inexpensive backyard pool to sit in with him?

Not sure if your baby is into looking at board books yet. Probably still too young for that.

Just try thinking of places nearby where you could drive to get away for a change of pace. Most babies love riding in their carseats.

most of the others have the same ides as me but I'll take the 2 points. Swimming, picnicing, hiking, biking, backyard BBQ and games, horseshoes, or bean bag horseshoes. Winter, movies, play cards. Do laundry, cook

How about going out to a park and a picnic, or a BBQ on the beach with some friends who also have kids.

Invite someone over for lunch after church. Have a salad ready, or something in a crock pot. You may learn a lot about the people.

We take walks to parks, nature trails, the lake. We get out of the house, get a little exercise, and introduce the kids to nature.
