Yes, because it's an English word and we need more and better ways to express ourselves. Because some people have a lack of education and don't want to learn doesn't mean we should dumb down our language.

It is part of today's english. I would say, if you use it correctly, it does, but I think it is better left to literary/poetic uses, instead of use in every day speech.
