My daughter's 1st birthday came and went without any teeth! But today I noticed a whiteish bump under her gums....it hasn't yet broken the surface, but it's sure to pretty soon. She was unusually cranky last night. She won't let me touch or look at the tooth, probably because it's tender. I have stuff for teething. But my question is have you personally known anyone else that didn't get their first tooth till after the 1st birthday?

If your child, like many, got theirs before the birthday, please don't reply....Im looking for people that didn't have teeth yet.

My oldest didn't get her first tooth until she was 15 months!!
Congratulations! A first tooth is always a reason to celebrate she is growing up!!
Try this to sooth her take an ice cube and put it in a washcloth and secure it in by wrapping a rubber band around the base...
And let her chew on it!!
The coldness and the rough texture of the washcloth helps with the pain and not to mention getting that tooth out!!
And of course Tylenol is always good and give her Motrin or Advil at night it lasts longer!!
Once that first tooth is out the second is not far behind!!
They look so cute with only two bottom teeth..Take a lot of pictures you will enjoy looking at them later!!

Keloids are pretty common, particularly amongst people with darker skin. At two and a half months, a scar is considered "old" - it is at about 95% of the maximum strength that the tissue will develop. You can always try this anyway, but if it doesn't work - talk to your doctor... there are other options available to get rid of it and make sure it does not return. Keloids, unfortunately, do not usually go away on their own - though spontaneous remissions have been reported. Good luck to you.

my granddaughter did not get her first tooth till after her first birthday. I have heard that the longer they stay in the gums, the stronger they are when they do come out. After the first one broke through then the others just seemed to follow and she had a full set in no time, and the lessons of no biting began. :)

This one rides the fence: My daughter's first birthday was Saturday... and I FINALLY saw the little white ridges of her first tooth that same morning. Just in time for cake. Go figure.

I never had teeth until after my first birthday.

Its perfectly normal, don't worry. If you are ask your Dr but I'm sure they won't start worrying until about 18 months.

the longer it takes to get their teeth, the stronger and healthier they are! that's fantastic that they have stayed "under cover" and protected so long!
