Let's focus on expanding and stretching your budget --

(+$20) Re Bedspread. Use your current bedspread and buy some hot pink or light green fabric as a cover. It doesn't need to be wrapped around your cover, just sitting on top and covering the old beadspread.

Find someone w/ a sewing machine and sew the ends. Then sew in sequins, beads or get fabric pens and do a design. Maybe your initials or a flower border? The fabric should be less than $20. The embellishments $5-$10. This is also a good project to do w/ a Mom, sister or friend.

(- $10) So you love Casey? Let's recruit C. to get the embellishments and save that $10... You can also use friends, families old jewelry and take it apart to use. The ideas is to get these things free. Dollar stores are also a good place to look for these things.

(+$20) Re Corner desk. Go w/ someone to home depot and have them cut a corner piece of wood and some clasps. Hang it to suspend. Way cool. Borrow some sandpaper to smooth out to rough edges. (Maybe C. could help w/ that part) Paint it w/ your left over paint from the walls. Hang some left over fabric from your bed cover w/ tacs. This should be $10-$20.

--So now you should have $60-$75 left over for the fun stuff. Focus on bold items w/ color for design focus. Taking existing things and "dressing" them up is always a way to save $$>

- (+$10) How about a rubber tree plant or palm. Borrow some holiday lights to light it up.

--(+$20) If you use a pink bed cover then get green pillow cases or vice versa.

-(+$5) Hammer nails in the wall or get some small hooks at home depot. Hang in rows of 5 on your wall and hang your jewelry off of them.

--(+$10) Get a small can of green paint and some blue tape. Use the Blue tape as a stencil and make a stripe around your entire room. You can tape pictures or cut cool things from magazines up in the stripe around.

--Lighting - what about a cool lamp? Check out Urban Outfitters for hip young lighting. Ikea as well. If too much, then try getting a light bulb that is purple in an existing lamp for ambiance.

--With the left over think of these ideas as well. (remember, big and bold doesn't have to be expensive.)

--Bean bag chair
--Cool big print fabric to hang on wall for impact.
--Sheep skin rug from Ikea ($15)
--Sisal matt from dollar stores.

Re Craigs list--- check out the free stuff. Maybe post for a fishtank. I bet people are giving those away and you can get some fish for less than $5. Only arrange transfers w/ adults.

Find some thing that matches you. I might begin with the only factor that might be viewed the focal factor of the room. This might almost always be the mattress ( if you'll be able to find the money for a brand new mattress, probably some thing vintage or brand new) Get a brand new unfold, pillows and so forth. Paint the partitions, upload snap shots, new lights, candles, greenery, carpet and so forth. Just be further inventive. Add matters to the ceiling should you might like. Go to Hobby Lobby, Anna's linen, Macy's, kirklands, and so forth.

Hey check the website at walmart.com... they got neat corner desk & bedspread... I know ok they're more like 45 & more but if you get the bedspread at a better price your can splurge a bit more for the desk. Also check with K-mart.com they usually have great deals like Walmart on their internet site. Good Luck!

Check second-hand stores. You might find a desk like what you want there. Or check Big Lots: I've found a lot of bargains there and at similar stores. Have you checked Wal-Mart and Target yet? Or go yard-sale hopping: It is about the right time of year for it.

Good luck!

Check the thrift stores, garage sales, etc. You can repaint anything to look new. Put the word out. Aunts, Uncles, friends can be very helpfull. ( especially uncles like me)

Is it brand new you want? Or are you willing to buy used?
For used, check garage sales, thrift shops, even the local want ads.
