I personally find your use of the English language a lot more offensive.

Mary is a common name. Personally, I hate the name. I've had some issues with people named Mary in the past and since then, I don't like the name.

Personally, I like the name, 'Mary'. Yes, it's very comman, but it's simple and beautiful because of it. Its short form - Mae or May - is also simple and perfectly formed. Compared to the slew of 'unusual' names arriving these days, a name like Mary should be considered a blessing. I mean, can you imagine trying to live your life called Ampersand?

It also has an interesting geneology.

I think it is really classic, it's a biblical name, so it has been used a lot over the centuries. I wouldn't name a baby just mary, but I think a name like Mary-jane is really cute.

no, the name Mary.

Hmm... I don't really care for it myself. It seems archaic, even though it has of course gone up and down in popularity throughout the years, and I'm sure it'll swing up again eventually. Hey, in a few generations people will think that Britanny, Ashley, and Nicole are "grandma names!"

btw, "Sabrina" is pretty. Reminds me of the movie (the second one with Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, and Julia Ormand) of that title. :-)

Its the meaning of the name or loving someone with the name that will help you like it more. It is very traditional and sounds like Larry, Barry and Jerry, all equally annoying but very common names.

Actually, you don't hear it much in real life anymore. I know what you mean though, it is supposed to be one of the more common names; like Sally.
