Is there any lakes or woods in Rangeley that are particularly good for finding moose? Are there other nearby locations that are good as well?

I know nothing of the state of Maine. Moose, however, I have some experience with.

First, know that they are vile tempered creatures who would just as soon destroy you as allow you into their range, and they have a VERY long attention span.

They can generally be found where water is plentiful and easy to stand in. They like to eat the stuff that grows on the bottoms of lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds, etc. They are also partial to water areas with cover - plenty of trees, tall bushes and that sort of thing, to make them less visible.

If you're going in search of them, make sure you've got your best long distance lenses, because you don't want to get close enough for them to see you or catch your scent.

Hope this helps.
