If you feel guilty, you must ask yourself questions.
Is the guilt coming from yourself or from something someone has imposed on you? ( clergy )
Do you feel that the church you attend is of any help in making you closer to God?
Does the church you attend, put the law on you? ( leave immediately )
Does the church you attend, say that you are a sinner, therefore you must come and listen to how bad you are?
Do you actually believe that you must be in a church in order to worship God?
Do you believe that the building is the church?
Do you believe that you can worship God in Spirit and in Truth?
Do you believe that you are the church?
Does the church you attend, build you up or tear you down?
Does the church you attend, preach tithing? ( if so get out right away )

That's exactly how the controlling concept of religion works...you're feeling guilty for choosing not to attend church today. Good for you...stop feeling guilty and do something constructive with the time. PEACE!

I didn't go, in fact, I haven't gone in a long time. I don't feel the least bit guilty. I'm not missing anything that I haven't heard before. I have not lost faith just because I'm not sitting in a pew doind what everyone else does for an hour every Sunday. I give God glory and praise in how I live my life and treat others.

I feel guilty about not helping someone when I could have.

I don't feel guilty about going to church, however. I can help people
better spending my time elsewhere.

That's just me, however. Other people use church as a center
for their altruistic efforts - and I say "all power to 'em."

I celebrate my religion in other ways. Today I am going to spend some quality time with my friends and we will talk about the God and Goddess and how we can better serve them by doing charity work. Blessed be.

Your church is inside you. You can improve yourself and the world by practicing compassion and tolerance for your fellow humans. Just imagine if we all did that! Wow, we'd be living in a war-free utopia right now!
