What would it look like and how would you be able to avoid the above problems?

To those who have answer briefly such as Budhism or suggested other such religions, I have been in those communties already and it exists there as well. So think again..but thanks for answering. We need more solid answers. And the person who said find 2 people devoid of it. My husband and I are devoid of it and have a peaceful, loving relationship. Others who come to us can't even appreciate it because they are not ready for love yet...so I guess that is a part of the answer. You have to be ready and willing for love to happen to you.

Just to keep it all equal, I am a Wiccan, a Pagan and it exists in our community as well.,

It can't be done. You can't stop people from thinking or saying things you don't want them to. I think that would be obvious with the teachings of the bible and the Christians. That is just an example cause it happens in every religion.

Ha ha, funny. Seek the truth (not reality or what 'man' says is the truth) - on the path to seeking the truth, it doesn't matter which path a person takes, - all paths lead to the same finish line.

People don't like to change what they think because that gets into their belief system, it's hard work to change, and it is devastating to find out what you believe is not true. That' why people argue so much and defend their own beliefs and think others are ignorant.

We are all ignorant, once we realize that then we are a whole lot wiser than when we thought we knew it all, or had all the answers. You sound like you have a wonderful life and a wonderful view, and I am so happy for you.

I wouldn't be able to create one, since hypocrisy, egotism, and elitism are an unfortunate but ongoing part of human nature, just like the other "deeds of the flesh" mentioned in Galatians and other places in the Bible. The only way to have such a religion would be to live out Christianity as Jesus envisioned it: His supernatural love, and fruit of the Spirit being given place to in human hearts and lives, with its adherents exercising a personal dependence on Jesus to produce those character traits of love, humility, kindness, that He personally exhibited in His earthly life.

Hypocrisy would go out the window: " God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all." ) I John 4

Egotism would go out the window: " If I glorify Myself My glory is nothing." John 8:54

Eliteism would go out the window: " If I be lifted up I will draw all men onto Myself." (John 12:32)

Jesus is quoted as saying the following in John 15 which explains this:

" I am the vine and you are the branches..."
" Apart from Me you can do nothing..."

It is NOT possible; eventually someone has to be the lead sheep with the stinkiest butt to follow. The stinky butt is going to do whatever in needed to stay in power and to maintain control.

Just look at the christo facist fundies, an excellent example of a group that has some good tenets that have become warped outdated and misguided. It is also a demonstration of what I tried to point out in a question. A church/religion is made up of people, these people are the religion and they do what the leadership tells them. Thus, those that are the followers are the religion.

We dont create religions
religion is the process of worshiping a God or a number of gods, this worship is therefore connected to certain teachings and rules that must be followed because they are the laws of that God
if u create a religion.. u'll imagine a God for urself or what???
I get ur point about wanting a utopia, but that is more of a social standard than a religious one.. just set a good example for many people and try to be the best person u can be. u'll find that all religions somewhat point in that direction
btw i'm muslim so dont go claiming that islam is against that

What you are describing is Utopia.. it is not possible because people are human and one cannot control human emotion. I know Wicca is supposed to be above all that.. I was a practicing wiccan for many years before moving to atheism but that does not stop some from condemning some for actions they find offensive and yet they are doing the same actions themselves. They are human conditions and have to be accepted as such; although they do not have to be liked.

I don't think it's really possible. Because as soon as you start thinking that your religion is the best one, or that you're doing it "right" when others aren't, you've fallen into the trap of egotism and elitism...

IMHO it's better to try to live your own life without hypocrisy, egotism and elitism, and the rest will hopefully just follow from there.

In my mind, it kind of contradicts. If you gave people that amount of freedom then hypocrisy, egotism and elitism will come naturally from some of your people.

Even if a religion is perfect on paper, you can never take into account the actions of people. Right?

Thomas Jefferson's "breed" of Deism is already just like that. Something very similar can be found in today's Unitarian Universalist churchs.

The unseatable logic of these churches is that they don't rely on dogma or scripture, just ponder & respect the wonder of what is. This is far more intellectually justifiable than relying on very old stories written in other languages that you have not studied!

When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior all thing will become new he does not ask you to be religious but only to have a personal relation ship with him and God our Father in Heaven and to let the Holy Spirit work through us be apart of the family of God and don't think about religion.
