In 1966 the papyri were rediscovered in one of the vault rooms of the New York’s metropolitan Museum of Art. The Deseret News of Salt Lake City on Nov. 27, 1967 acknowledged the rediscovery of the papyri. On the back of the papyri were "drawings of a temple and maps of the Kirtland, Ohio area." There could be no doubt that this was the original document from which Joseph Smith translated the book of Abraham.
When Joseph first gave his translation of the Egyptian papyri, hieroglyphics were undecipherable. Today they are fairly easy to decipher. He was safe in saying anything he wanted to and there would be no way of proving him wrong. But with the resurfacing of the same papyri he used to do his Book of Abraham translation, and the fact that he did not in any way do it correctly, should be proof enough that Joseph Smith lied about his abilities from God.

Some of the scrolls Joseph Smith had were recovered and have been found, but not the one that the Book of Abraham came from. We don't have those scrolls.

Oh, you recommend the scroll that develop into over 20 feet lengthy, in accordance to even negative eyewitness testimony? both it burned up in the tremendous Chicago hearth, or the guy who has it isn't speaking. at the same time as ministering in minor techniques in my church (appearing a baptism as a missionary, giving a verbal substitute -- short sermon -- in church), I have two times gained burning witnesses of reality from the Holy Ghost, that filled me, body and spirit. I have got here upon the evidence for myself, in accordance to God's non secular technique, so i'm content textile to view The e book of Abraham as scripture. Textual grievance is all properly so a techniques because it is going, yet i do not trust because I have gained evidence. I have gained God's evidence because i develop into keen to trust. look up The Apocalypse of Abraham a at the same time as on-line. that is purportedly written with suggestions from Abraham or a as a lot as date, even if it develop into written with suggestions from a Christian in the early a lengthy time period following Christ. it may no longer have a lot Judaism in it, even if that is really what Jesus' unique Christians were training and believing on the time. in a lot of techniques, its backstory is plenty like the e book of Abraham. It develop into merely translated with suggestions from scholars rather of a prophet.

Well, that depends if you believe in it or not. If you do, then you have to believe that it is true. Or you stand in the middle of believing or not.
