I believe in God, very much so, but also have no desire to go to Church. I spend time at any time during the week reading and studying various theologies and religions and don't feel the need to be aligned with one or the other. I want to learn from them all. The one thing I do like about Church though is the feeling of community, but I do not like the exclusive or divisive nature that comes from this feeling of well, we are better than the Church down the street, I wouldn't want to be one of "them". When all Churches start preaching oneness with everyone, I might feel the need to go.

Many many churches are all about who has the best looking church, who made the most money, or has the most followers (so they can make the most money). How many people that go to church have actually read the Bible, and how many just let the one at the pulpit tell them what the Bible says? Going to church does not make you a christian anymore than going to a race makes you a race car driver. Church (quite often) is all about 'showing off' (see I'm good, I go to church). It makes a good impression in the community, people think you must be 'good' because you go to church. I've not only seen so much hypocrisy in the members of the church, but also I've seen churches that twist the words of the Bible to accommodate their own desires. Tithing is one of my biggest complaints (about how that has been misinterpreted)

Yes I consider myself a Christian and I rarely go to church for those reasons

Well I have stopped going to church regularly--obviously it is Sunday and I am on here --during church time. I believe that yes it is a waste of time because I am saved and I have a relationship with God. However, I believe that finding a good church--one with a pastor that really teaches the scripture and doesn't just scream, sing profusely and shout is a great thing. I realized that I knew very little about the bible and its meanings until I attended regularly ==even on Sunday and/or Wednesday evenings. I learned much more and felt I was doing good for myself and God--giving time to him. So going to the right church helps me feel better. I was talking to a pastor this week and he said that I should find a good church of my choice and he reminded me that the bible says that we should assemble together .... I can't remember it all but it means that Christians should get together to praise God and so forth. Plus I feel that God's knowledge is with me and I feel such a closeness when I use to really be dedicated to going to church. I feel very lost and confused now, but I still feel saved.

I believe in God and I believe he knows a persons heart. I ,however, do not attend church. I attended church since I was a child and my family jumped from church to church. If the preacher didn't preach what my parents wanted to hear we moved. I didn't have a choice in going. I was there sunday morning and evening and also on Wednesday. Then when I became a young adult I quit going. I don't dislike the church but don't feel it is what will get me into heaven. God knows a persons heart and if they believe in him and do there best to do what is right. There are many people who attend church regularly and will realize that they were wasting thier energy and time. Its not church its your heart and mind.

I am a Christian and I do not go to "organized" churches. I feel that many if not most have wandered far off the path of the true teachings of the Bible.

When two or more believers speak of God or the Bible they are in reality in church. So right now we are wasting your time.

As for my feelings for non-believers: You are making your choice and one day you will have to answer for that. Praying for you is a waste of time until you make a choice to believe. I do feel sorry for people who choose to not believe but that is about it. My advice is to read the completely Bible once and then you can make an educated decision for yourself. I stress the word educated. Deciding anything out of ignorance in life is a bad choice.

You didn't say if you're a Christian or not...

I'm a Christian and I don't go to church. Of the churches in my area, it is a waste of my time and energy to attend.

But, I do interact with like-minded people, reading the Bible, discussing and applying the doctrines of the Bible to our lives, which includes community service. It is important to fellowship with other Christians, but IMO it's not important to attend or belong to a church.

God is everywhere, so you are right, going to church is a waste. You don't need a priest to tell you about God when can look to the trees and sky and see the miracle God has created. I know, it sounds a little Druid of me, but as a Christian I believe it is wrong to confine your worship to a man-made church and to pray to or worship things made by man and to pray to things other than God, such as Virgin Mary, any Saint, and Jesus is also a false thing brought about by man and the churches built by man.

I think you are right. I think church is hypocritical. My school which was religious incidentally hammered it in our heads that church was more than a building. I think you can just practice your religion or beliefs on your own. I went to church and found the more involved I was the sicker it was. People were really mean. I met the worst people there. Worse than at my religious school.

To each his own as they say. It is your right and freedom to go or not go and nobody is going to force you either way. That is freedome of choice, a God given right. If you feel it is a waste of your time, it probably is. Just hope one day you don't find out you made the wrong decision.

So what are you doing with that time and energy that benefits humanity? Are you going to a homeless shelter? Are you working a political campaign? Do you write letters to leaders expressing your discontent over issues that you consider important?

Additionally, let me ask you this...what are you doing to establish a sense of belonging/community for you and your family? PEACE!
