When Muslims engage in violent jihad, all killings are to be made in the name of God.

According to the Qu'ran, killings in the name of God, whether human or animal must be preceeded or followed by saying "Bismillah, Allahu akbar" (In the name of God, God is greatest), or "Allahu akbar" (God is greatest) for short. These phrases must also be used before the slaughtering of animal if the meat is to be considered halal.

Islam totally forbids the terrorist acts that are carried out by some misguided people. It should be remembered that all religions have cults and misguided followers, so it is their teachings that should be looked at, not the actions of a few individuals.let us spread peace ,understanding and forgiveness .If you like to have friendly Chat IM (Whisper Me) http://www.islamdoor.com

The word "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for Almighty God, and is the same word used by Arabic speaking Christians and Jews. If one were to pick up an Arabic translation of the Bible, one would see the word "Allah" being use where the word "God" is used in English. Actually, the Arabic word for Almighty God, "Allah", is quite similiar to the word for God in other Semitic languages — for example, the Hebrew word for God is "Elah". For various reasons, some non-Muslims mistakenly believe that Muslims worship a different God than Jews and Christians. This is certainly not the case, since the Pure Monotheism of Islam calls all people to the worship of the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all of the other prophets. However, even though Jews, Christians and Muslims worship the same God — since there is only one God — their concepts concerning Him differ in some significant ways

'Allaho Akbar' means 'Allah is Great.' It is said before slaughtering an animal for FEEDING purposes only. Otherwise, killing an animal is a taboo in Islam coz animals are souls too.

So terrorists are misguided people who think that it is OK to kill non-Muslims and also proceed by saying Allaho Akbar, which is actually a load of crap. This has nothing to do with Islam.

It means: "God is Great (Allah is Great)."

Listen to our true enemy...the radical Muslim.

These twisted fanatical Islamists believe that the murder they are
committing, the so called Jihad, is with the blessing of their god, Allah. Muslims praise Allah, to the point of compulsive obsession, in every aspect of life, even when committing such atrocities.

This then is the enemy we are facing...one who believes that what he is doing to bring down the "infidels" of western society, in particular - America, is with his god by his side to give him the strength he needs to fulfill this horrible mission and to reward him in heaven when he dies as a martyr for this cause.

How does one defeat this mindset?
And what kind of a "god" would bless such atrocity?

I think akbar directly translates as great, big, or some other synonym for large (or larger), while allah is, of course, god.
