I just asked the open question, "Why don't christians attribute any bad occurrences to God?" One answerer said " we allow gays to be preachers and church members, our morals are going down."
My question is WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH GAYS GOING TO CHURCH??

Little O Me: If God won't accept those who commit sins, heaven will be pretty damned empty, don't you think? BTW, being gay is not a sin and you know it! A dead lifestyle? What about men and women who are sterile? Should they not love and marry just because they cannot reproduce?

On that note, what the hell is wrong with people taking a 2,000 year old text, proclaiming it was written by the creator of the universe, and dogmatically adhering to values which in no way reflect the enlightened and well-rounded state to which most of today's society has come. It's time to evolve, religion!

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with gays going to church.....
Anyone that says otherwise is WRONG!
There are misconceptions out there about this. I hear it all the time because I am Catholic and I cannot count the times when people have told me that the Catholic church is anti-gay which is also not true. The church is full of gay priests....and they are allowed to attend to their pastoral duties. What they are not allowed to do is have sex...which is no different that non gay priests.
What the Catholic church is against though is a man laying with another man. That is it.
Now that I got that out of the way (sorry,it is a pet peeve of mine) to answer your question.... ;-)
Christians ( at least real ones, not the cafeteria ones that claim to be Christians because they go to church on an occasional Sunday or wear a cross or started their own sect that hardly follows the teachings of Christianity ) will all tell you the same thing regardless of denomination; God knows best.
In other words, what WE think is a bad thing might very well be a very good thing down the road. God knows all...past, present and future. For example, if you are late for work one day and you get in trouble, this can be a bad thing, however, God probably put obstacles in place so that you would not be in an intersection at a certain time because if you were, you would be killed in a car accident....
See my point?

You know I'm not really sure. I mean, way back in the day when I went to church and was a pretty devout Christian (until I realized I could admire Jesus and his teachings and not be a Christian) the pastors at my church (who coincidently all got either forced to retire or 'reassigned' to other churches...so I think perhaps the denominational governing council didn't agree with their views) used to say "Church isn't for those of us who are saved. It isn't for those of us who are spiritually well. The church is for those who are spiritually ill. It is like a hospital for the spirit." Then again these are the same pastors who told me "The Bible is God's love letter to you and the way you read it and how God speaks to you when you do will be different then the way God speaks to others when they read it." Among some other things that I now realize probably were "heresy" amongst Christians. That said, of course, I'm now a Hindu. A religion that is amazingly tolerant (in general...although like all religions you have those who just don't want to be tolerant for whatever reason). It is a religion that strives to see God in everyone and everything and to treat them the same way they treat God. I find that admirable (not to mention the fact that the religion isn't dogmatic either).
So not sure what's wrong with gays going to church? I mean, if, as most Christians say, gays are "sinners" then wouldn't you want them in church? I mean if the church is the hospital of the spirit and sinning is illness of the spirit...then wouldn't you want the sinners there. Why fill a hospital full of healthy people? Then again, being gay myself, I don't believe nor has God ever caused me to believe, that being gay is wrong.

God is our creator & He created male & female! He made them that way so they could reproduce. Man with man, or woman with woman cannot reproduce, " Its a dead lifestyle"
There are many churches & many will accept gays but God Himself will not accept them. Nor will He accept any who commit anyother sins. I'm not talking about going to a physical church I'm talking about Gods Church which He will come back to at the end time. It doesn't matter what I say or what you say , Its what God says that matters. So when we face God at judgement we better be right.

Many Christians still follow the old testament beliefs. You know, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Conservative Christains want to follow the old testament ways and still believe in Jesus. The new testament was about Jesus and forgiveness. The reason why god sent Jesus to Earth is because he wanted to be a forgiving God. He did not want his childeren to go to hell. Jesus message was that God loved all his childeren even gays. So Christains should not really hate the gays. We are all god's childeren and Jesus said God loves all his childeren and we should love each other as Jesus and God loved us.

I don't see why any one should be discriminated about what they believe or what sex they love. If God put all people on Earth he/she must have created homosexuals and now rights are just being made for gays and lesbians. Many people think it is wrong but how do we even know that a man and woman loving each other is right?

nothing is wrong if they go to church .... its a totaly different story if the church is preaching that its right to be gay or theres nothing wrong with it ... im not saying that gays should be condemned and a good solid church that believes in Gods word is right where a gay person needs to be but to push an agenda of its ok to be gay or God is gay is totally out of line with Gods word ... and a gay preacher is wrong also ... gays are in error according to God and should not be in a position to lead Gods children, however if a person chooses to be a member of a gay church then that is their choice ...

Especially because there isn't a single biblical prohibition on lesbianism.
They ONLY references to sin and gays in the bible are about men on men.
God loves lesbians!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with gays going to a "Christ"ian church. Jesus said love one another, and not to judge. Those who bash gays are going against his teachings.
