No one can do it all alone. One thought at a time, one action at a time, one prayer at a time does more than you can possibly imagine. Let there be peace on earth...and let it begin with me! (line from the song).

If you're really serious about this, then it's going to take up the rest of your life time. It's one of those things that's easy to say, and very hard to live by.

All you have to do is take the time to listen, understand, and empathise with people. Understand why people are angry and feel like the only resort they have is violence. Understand what it is that they hope to achieve. Not the material gain through the violence, but the psychological aspect. Someone wants to kill someone else. Okay, so why? Well, person A wants person B's house. Okay, so why? Does person A have a personal vendetta against person B and want to punish them? Why? Could the psychological gain the person wants be better achieved by making person B understand why person A dislikes him, and person B showing empathy and sincere regret towards person A? Or maybe person A doesn't know person B, but has a very hard life and sees person B as responsible. Normally that isn't the case, and an examination of the social and economic situation of person A will yield a far more sustainable solution.

The reason why it's so hard is because you have to do EVERY SINGLE DAY of your life. Someone cuts you up on the road, and before you go for the horn you have to stop and think. Someone pushes in front of you in a queue. Don't get angry - talk to the guy and find out why. And what makes it even harder is that you'll be the only person doing it. You'll be the only person taking the time to listen and understand.

Pray to God if it helps you. Do it for your children if it gives you strength. Find a reason.

Just remember the ripples on the pond. You make someone else happy, and they'll be in a good and recpetive mood, which will make all the people they come into contact with happy, and so on. You get angry, then you take it out on the people you meet, and they do the same . . . So be the one who breaks the chain.

What if they had a war and nobody came to it? Education. If the people joining al Queda now had ways of supporting their families, many would not join. The Muslim moderates say al Queda is not practicing true Islam. If these moderates would build more mosques and teach true Islam not so many would join. Hezzbolla is a different problem. For that I think the legitimate government in Lebanon needs to move more army personnel into south Lebanon so Hezzbolla won't have a claim to be there, and they would disband.

You cant, cause the problems are so deeply rooted in religion that in everyones eyes they are right and everybody else is wrong. So there is no middle ground. About the only thing you can do is be a peace full person and lead by example, and set the standard.(pay it foward) And as far as praying. Whatever !!! there have been more people killed in the name of god or other religious figures then any other reason. The crusades for starters. And really will god bless only america I thought we are all (gods children) why wouldnt he bless everyone.Just think of all the war going on as natural selection.

The only way the violence will end is when we all join together as friends and extended family on this earth. Taking in an exchange student from a foreign land and teaching them that we are all the same, with just different habits, is a good start. We need a global community in other words, no one person can do it themselves. Great question!
