It will definately burn calories and tone your legs, but being that you're a girl, I think doing that for too long will make your legs look bulkier than you probably are looking for. Why don't you try a light-weight regimen for you legs? Low weights, high reps. Just adding any muscles in general will help you burn calories 24/7. I do it 20 mins every other day, and it works fine for me.

Also, I always found that after doing a leg work out with weights, my legs would KILL two days later. I never walked around with weights, but I would imagine that your legs would end up hurting a lot.

you're on the right track - trying to find ways get in shape through mundane things. Be sure as you walk, that you try and use all your muscles. doing lunges across the room while wearing weights or bands is also a good way to burn calories; but, as others have said do it in sessions, not all day, and start with low weights and work up. use those ankle weight on your wrists too! hold the news paper in front of your face. Start by reading only a few columns, and make it a goal to be able to read a more columns by the end of that month.
resistance is futile... I think not! keep up the motivation!

10lb Ankle Weights

I think 10 pounds are a bit much. Try 2 or 3 pounds. And, don't wear them much. Walking around with weights could cause a downward pressure and poor circulation which might result in varicose veins. Better to only use them during leg lifts.

Yes, of course. It's providing more resistance. Just be careful about not adding too much weight, having poor form, etc. You might get injured.

Putting weights on your ankles is going to put a lot of extra stress on your knee joints.

Also very high heels tone the calves.
