A black box does not have any wings. I suppose you could build a big one, and have everybody get in it and launch it with a giant catapult, but the landing would be rough. This is like asking why don't we make planes out of solid stone because it can fall from a great height and not break. Jeez.

good question, I really think they should look into that, maybe they could develop planes from the material from the black box, but, lighter material, maybe you could find out who to mail this question to dealing with construction of air planes, would be nice if they do come up with something safe.

well a box is not very aerodynamic which would create allot more drag which would increase fuel consummation that added cost of the fuel would cut to far into the airlines profit so it a choice lives or profit
