Assuming there's a right hand drive, you should start it from the outmost line of the road to have maximum turning radius available. You can do it easily in a junction where no one is there to block (you start as if turning right, but halfway turning right, you steer to the left and you can use the whole width of the junction including some of the intersecting roads). When the road is really tight, you could use the pavement when no pedestrians are blocked or disturbed (e.g. to turn around to the left, you get the right wheels on the pavement and at the other side of the road you drive up with your right wheels to the pavement and after the full turn, you go back to the road).

Before performing a U-turn, check if:
- you allowed to do a U-turn (you are not allowed to turn around where your are not allowed to turn to the left !)
- you are flashing to indicate you want to turn
- you are not being overtaken
- you have enough space to turn around without block one or both sides of the traffic.

You are ceratinly not allowed to turn around in bridges, tunnels and motorways. At other places where signal doesn't forbids it, you can try.

There is a difference between a U-Turn and a 3 point turn. In a 3 point turn you turn your vehicle 90 Degrees, back up a little and then complete the other 90 degrees. You'll see emergency vehicles do this alot.

It's a 180 degree turn. Say you want to do a U-turn, whichever side you drive on, whether right or left, you turn your steering wheel left or right and turn your car 180 degrees.
