Those that are clearly meant to be offensive to nonbelievers take days or are not removed at all? I have had a question removed and it was critical but was in no way offensive. I have seen many that are crude and hateful toward nonbelievers and they are not removed. If the wording was changed to Christians or religious it is pulled in a matter of minutes.

I'm still trying to understand that myself. I've had friends who have had questions pulled so fast it's almost as if they have a lookout searching for their questions. Yet I have seen offensive and lewd questions stay up even after I know for fact many people complained about them. I think they just randomly choose which questions to delete depending on how they feel. Sorry.

I find that non Christians are more tolerant of people than Christians are. This is just an observation. I saw earlier where one Christian was saying how she always reports non Christians for slamming Christians but never reports Christians for slamming non Christians. Why is that? Double standards. It doesn't involve her so why should she do something about it. She admits it is wrong. Do you think other Christians would admit they are doing wrong by doing the same thing? Probably not. I think some people just need to grow up and realize that not everyone thinks alike. Tattling is not a good thing and mommy can't come save you all the time. I say if something isn't broken or someones not bleeding, don't tattle.

Genuine questions that are designed to improve your knowledge or commence healthy debate should not be removed. You are entitled to your beliefs or non-beliefs. The problem is that many people are consumed by their own particular brand of religion which they attempt to foist on everyone else. Many of these people are brainwashed from birth and cannot accept that they may be wrong. You are right in that some people put on particularly crude and nasty questions and answers and it is up to us collectively to report the abuse as soon as we see it. Sooner or later the powers that be in Yahoo will realise how much offense these people are giving to others and, hopefully, prevent them from using the service at all. I have reported several people who do such things on the grounds that not only do I find them offensive but there are children who use these sites to who could be morally corrupted. Please use the 'Report Abuse' service more often but only if appropriate. I do not mind rude comments or jokes and I'm not a prude, but they should be in the right place and context. Best wishes to you.

Exactly! Here's an example for you. Recently, the movie "The Da Vinci Code" came out. Tons of religious outcry on how it will destabilize their religions. A few years back, "The Passion of the Christ" came out. No outcry from non believers. If us non believers had protested the movie, we would have been shut down immediately. There is such a huge hypocrisy in the world over religion. Political leaders are too wussy to stand up and say "This religious content is offensive to non believers", because they know that "good, church going folks" are the ones who consistently vote.

Bias is an inevitable part of humanity, and being 'politically correct' is a sign of the times. So even though I hadn't noticed what your observation is, it wouldn't surprise me.
I have also found that political correctness distorts the real opinion of people, since opinions normally expressed are suppressed.
A self censoring of thoughts that ideally should be protected under the 1st.
It slews what real opinions may be out there. A pity really.
Everyone is lying to everyone else because they feel it is expected.
I am NOT buying into this, anyone asks me a question, I will answer it honestly, and if they don't want to hear it, they better not ask the question. ;-)
Unfortunately I seem to be in a minority. Well, so be it.

I think that a lot of believers have more zeal in their faith than the ability to express themselves in a non-offensive way. I think any questions made simply to rile up someone else of a different religion or belief, should be removed. One can generally tell which questions are sincerely seeking an honest answer, and which ones are just venting out on people. I think there should be lessons about tact and taste before people are allowed onto Answers.
(by the way, I often see questions or answers that are completely offensive to different religions, and they stay put.
I guess we see and notice more of what we find offensive. :-) )

I have been here for a month or so... in that time I have been cut twice...both times it was a responce to a "nonbeliever" who was rude crude and lewd...and down right filthy... my responce did not contain any "dirty" words... and was factual by public record... yet I was cut and the lies and filth remained agqainst my, and others faiths... I have seen far more filth, FAR More filth from the "non religious" and it is the least cut IMO. The Chrisian Faith is cut far more often and it is usualy for speaking the truth about islam. They are quick to report and backed by yahoo which is anti Chrisitian in most cases.....IMO

Because religion is a very touchy subject for ALOT of people.

Look at what religion does to the populous that believe without question.... they are willing to die and even kill their fellow man all for that one belief.

Whereas those that question belief or are 100% atheist tend to accept others for who and what they are regardless of what they believe or how they worship. The only exception to that is if someones religion or belief has a negative impact as a whole. Such as if a religion called for someone to sacrifice a newborn baby or something. Than those who question or don't belive would have a problem with it.

another example of sweeping generalization...most of the questions i have seen are apparently INTENDED to be offensive...and still they sit...would it be possible for folks to make their points without resorting to exaggeration or simply making things up? by the way, out of all the messages i have seen that were offensive to me personally, i have not asked for any to be removed-my philosophy is, if someone doesn't mind showing the world how warped they are, why shouldn't i let them?

I want to know why, when someone places a question that is racially inflammatory, it takes forever to pull both the question and the questioner?

People have to be offended when they are attacked, so they hit that report abuse slot. It does seem to drag on.
