As a combat veteran myself, I thought it was an outrageous lie! I was not a Marine, but, while serving in the 82d Airborne, I had the opportunity to train with, and observe Marines in action. In no experience of mine would ANY soldier or Marine, behave the way those actors portraying our young men in uniform did! I thought it was disgusting, irresponsible, and disrespectful; especially to our men serving in harm's way.

The only Leatherneck movie that I know of is a 1929 silent film. Unless you are talking about the movie Jarhead. I have not seen this movie, and I do not plan to. Just what we need, one more movie that depicts the Marines as a bunch of head case, blood-thirsty savages.

Why is it that we can no longer make a movie about the positive aspects of the Marines. After John Wayne, I can think of only a few movies that show Marines in a positive light, Heartbreak Ridge being one of the few, the proud.

the truth no-one wants to hear or see. It also doesn't make money at the box office. Dont seem like many want to have big hearts unless its kids or civilians from some other country. Hollywood dreams sell the truth dont.
