No, I don't think the US goverment cares much about its people whether or not we are legal or illegal.
As the "greatest and most powerful nation" why don't we want the best for our people. If our goverment truly cared about us, they like any good parent, would want the best for us. The best education, the best health-care, the best life has to offer.
Instead, we have more people living in porverty than ever before including, or so I have heard, some enlisted soliders.
Our government lacks morality, accountability, and responsibility, so why should we be surprised when its residents behave accordingly.
The speed of the leader is the speed of the gang. We have right wing politicians courting the conservative Christian vote by denying gay rights, and then they are busted for being on the down-low. We have conservative radio talk-show hosts, claiming drug-dealers are the scum of the earth, in the meantime, they are doing hillbilly heroin and hiring a team of lawyers to stay out of jail and then violating the terms of their probation and still not going to jail as the average person would.
It is the hypocrisy of our nation that will cause it to implode. This "do as I say, not as I do" bs, didn't work at home in the 1950's and has gone on long enough.
The same congress that has voted down the minimum wage for the last several years has never failed to give themselves a raise.
I have a friend that works for a company that hires "immigrants". Several times a month, they get letters from the Social Security Administration informing them that the social security numbers of these "employee's are no good. Do you know what happens to the employee----nothing. Do you know what happens to the employer----nothing.

You're absolutely right, but the individual states still wield enough influence to bring the situation with all of that to a stop. Question is, have they basically been co-opted by such influences, or do they still have that all-important independent integrity? Fraud and corruption abound in state government, it's up to the People to make sure that the laws are enforced, too. Write your state representatives today and ask that they work with ICE to prevent/stop illegal immigration. If you don't, who will?

One has nothing to do with the other. Government represents the interests of the people, who have clearly said 'enough' on illegal immigration. If companies are hiring illegal aliens, those companies need to be stopped and fined, but no where will you find the government allowing or encouraging the hiring of illegal immigrants.

The government hopes that by "putting a band-aide" on the illegal invader menace that it will simply just "go away". This is lunacy, as it will positively lead to violence in the near future and denotes total dereliction of duty on the part of government. American corporations that make a practice of hiring these illegal invaders seem oblivious to the fact that they won't be able to conduct their business "profitably" once a civil war breaks out, as it most assuredly will. They're creating chaos, and one can't help but believe that it's deliberate.

I'm hoping they do in fact enact the immigration laws in this country. They don't wear a mask about it either. Look how they are voting. Sure, immigrants make companies alot of money because of the cheap labor, but all in all they are hurting this country.

Government can't care. It is an it, an institution, not a person. Therefore no "government" cares about anything. Now, there are people who make up the government. All of them care about something. They are just like you, your friends, your neighbors. Some of them just care about themselves, their power, their wealth, their success. Some have some level of concern about others and do care about what happens to them. Thus, for any government to act in a moral and responsible way, it is important to place within it moral and responsible people. I suggest that this is best acheived by seeking those who have a common moral compass. I believe that the best moral compass is defined through Jesus Christ as presented through a book we call "the Bible."

i've been writing to my senators on the issue and they have basically told me that they're more important to the economy than i am wish i hadn't erased the email or i'd post it i just didn't want read it again because it was so disgusting basically said the us economy is expected to grow to 27.4 trillion dollars by 2014 and that the current illegals account for 633 billion in additional revenue and that to send them back would that 200,000 buses stretching from arizona the alaska learn to speak spanish and get a tan so you'll blend in in the future cause the corporations have the control and thats what they want unless you can come up with 27.4 trillion dollars to buy them out

I do not know, I thank you for your Q. and have learned most is complicated & allowed or not allowed for many reasons. It is important to realize that with every different situation, & all are different, there can be different outcomes. One must 1st know the reasons of the decision maker per different situation, per different circumstance...generally money is a great influence tho..with many & much that happens.

Everything a republican controlled government does it to help the rich. They can't even raise the minimum wage without giving to the rich at the same time..
