I've noticed that within the past ten years, two things have happened side by side... more people are challanging God and His beliefs and more inhumane acts are being commited. Stem Cell Research, Gay Marriages (i'm really not against them completely), suicide bombings, more and more murders, kidnappings. doesn't it seem that they just pop up on the news every second?!?

sorry about the Gay Marriage thing... i sometimes get ahead of myself in my thinking. Gay marriages are not inhumane. i sometimes think complete thoughts and don't right them down completely. sorry.

what i meant by the gay marriage thing was that people are going in the opposite direction of what the bible says.

You are right ,and it will only get worse till the end, remember the Bible says when they say peace and safety, then sudden destruction.

First of all, stem cell research and gay marriage are completely apart from the rest of what you list - they as a whole do not in any way harm society. Their cause is science. Suicide bombers are acting upon religious beliefs. Religion is their cause. As for murders and kidnappings, these things have gone on since the beginning of human existence in one from or another, and seem more frequent because the population of the world is exponentially increasing. They have nothing to do with science or religion - unless we're going to start analyzing the vast numbers of people killed during, say, the Inquisition or the Holocaust - in which case, religion was once again the cause.

Oh yes the world has SUDDENLY become a terrible place where people commit all kinds of sins. Sure these are new ways people have found of sinning, but that doesn't change the fact people have been sinning all along. Perhaps you should get some perspective and read a book about the horrors of World War II or the Holocaust. I mean how old are you that you think in the past ten years things have suddenly gotten worse?

Keep in mind the world is much more connected due to technology, we see everything now as oppsed to even decades ago, not to mention hundreds or thousands of years ago.
I don't believe there is any more violence today per capita, look at how brutal the Middle Ages were, how brutal Bible times were and those were all done in the name of the lord.
According to the Bible god had his people go in and kill "every living thing" in the cities they conquered to take their promised land. Kind of sounds like genocide to me.
How do you think that would have been covered by the media if they had the technology we have today?
There have been much more inhumane acts done in the name of god than any other reason.

This has nothing to do with gods, this has to do with sensationalism fueling consumption in the media. Many companies encourage the media to cover shocking and disturbing stories every day to get people so scared or worked up they will buy what the companies have to sell. For instance, it is very profitable for the duct tape industry to have national news personalities telling people to buy a "dirty bomb" houseproofing kit including duct tape for the window cracks in your home, and throw in a few pictures of bomb craters in Lebanon to terrify the masses into action.
In any event, if you consider stem cell research and gay marriage inhumane acts you probably have other issues to worry about before spending your time watching the idiot box and believing that it's words are holy rote.

You seem to imply that there is a connection between freedom and evil acts. Not that I would agree with your list of what constitutes "inhumane," but we won't argue that point.
There is a difference between religious and spiritual freedom and atheism. There is also a difference between freedom and lawlessness. And there is a difference between freedom and materialism, although on this last, one would certainly have the right to be a materialist. Being a brute because you don't need to justify it under dialectical materialism (or any other version, for that matter) is not in any way connected with having religious freedom.
When there is a state-supported, state-enforced religion, there is more brutishness, because people feel justified in treating non-believers (i.e., believers in something other than the state-supported religion) as less than human. They get defined as criminals by their beliefs, not their actions. Such a concept has never been, and never will be, consistent with the American Constitution. But control over brutish behavior is easier in a free society, because people who have different beliefs and interests still have the common interest of putting down violent behavior, in putting down those who take unfair advantage with threats of violence, etc. To be free you must play fair.

It depends on were you live in the world. In general if you live in "Western" Society you are free to practice any Religion of your choosing. However if you live in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, China, The Sudan, among others, you could suffer imprisonment, rape, battery, and death.
Assuming you live in a place were you are free to worship without fear of these sufferings I would say the world is not getting better, or worse, but in fact, it is polarizing. With freedom comes the ability to find the truth. It also allows for people to engage in hedonism as well as various dysfunctional religious ideas.
I believe we are entering an age of enlightenment. But before we become more enlightened as a society it will get worse, much worse in many aspects before these extremes help the others fortunate enough to make it through these times to see the light.
Think of it as a process of evolution with the ideas about ultimate truth and how to we our lives as being weeded out when they do not match the realities of the world in which we live. Just like if I think I can walk in front of a bus without getting hurt, there are more complex patterns of thought that also have karmic consequences. However most often the more complex the philosophy, the longer it takes for the dysfunctions to manifest themselves.

Well, first off, stop reading the bias news. Its not a fair journalistic society anymore, and religion sadly is thinning, the reform groups are expanding and morals arent being taught to the young any more, the world has definitely changed and hate seems to be growing...liberalism is a partial cause because they believe in the fact of being completely free and I mean completely which unfortunately cause anarchy.......its truely a sad time.....

The Scripture plainly states about the end times that "evil men and seducers would wax worse and worse." Therefore I'd say yes, it's getting worse which should signify the end is near!
