If you will take a variety of pictures, a copyright if it has one, and a detailed written description of the contents you can go to the PBS site and post it to the Antique Road Show or you can send it to the Smithsonian - either avenue will be a slow process, but should be able to give you a broad spectrum range - otherwise you might consider a Bible Museum or looking through a libraries books of antiques and their values - few have little dollar value - most have sentiment value. I have some German Bibles that came out of the Third Reich, but even their value is less than $20 US dollars. I do have one that is an Anniversary Edition Bible purchased 50 years ago as a limited edition, but the value of it won't be more than $35 until it hits the century mark or beyond. A Latin Bible with a 6 to 8" thick binding with ornate sculpting and gold overlay might be in the $200 to $300 range - but it would have to be in flawless condition - if there is any writing or personal notations, the Bible is rendered virtually valueless other than sentiment. I have a collection of Bibles and have been fortunate to be blessed with many sentimental Bibles as I like them for the notations that have been made as it gave me insight into the persons life and what they faced and how they relied on God by the verses they chose to mark, etc. So, sometimes you have to realize that you might actually have something that is far more priceless as it is than it has monetary value.

Copyright date and publisher would determine its value if any. Most older Bibles have very little $$ value unless your talking 100 years of age or more.., again that may also depend on the publisher and how many bibles were published, the means they were published by, etc.
You would check with a Book Collector or book museum. As to where you would find them I have noooo idea. Sorry, but maybe your local Museum can put you in touch with someone who appraises antique books.

Unless its the freakin Dead Sea Scrolls its not really that old now is it. From the standpoint that the Bible is pretty freakin old. Now if you have an original copy of Herman Melville's MOBY DICK from the early 1800s that is worth some big cash. But a Bible would have to be from like the year 675 to be considered a precious antique.

Have you contacted an aucttion house like sotherbys? Be careful with anything tht might be valuble you can get someone that will cheat you on it. Perhaps check with a university or museum. They have rare collections. You may have to pay to have it apprased. It all depends on what you want to do with it. You may also want to read on preservation. Usually when you make any modifications to any old item it decreases the value, so you want to preserve only.

I watched ebay for a while because I wanted a real 1611 KJV.
Most KJV today sprung from a 1757version. Or was it 1783. Something like that.
Anyway, it'll have to be in fine shape and of a rare version for you to really get something out of it.
May I ask what translation, version and edition it is? I may be interested.

Perhaps if you read it, rather than loving $ more than His Grace; You'd dis-cover what's "old" of such old/new (law/grace) is also faulty, and not only "ready to vanish" (Heb 8), but "shall vanish" (1Cor 13).
And if what you have is not the Holy Bible, also called the seventh, and purposed to make God's holy truth the more known; Then perhaps what you have is either a popish or protestant per-version of the seventh: the Holy Bible.
http://www.godshew.org/Sevens5.htm ... and worthless.
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Does it have a title page? if so, copy info and send to a Seminary-they will tell you 'what' you have, once you know 'what' you have-then a book dealer will be able to help.
Just curious-does it have a print date, is it in English, what is the outer cover made of???

Most aren't worth much at all. Search abebooks.com and ebay to see if there's one that sold around the equivalent date that yours is for an idea as to value.

Are you asking for the price of it? Basically, it is priceless, it is a gold mine of Morality, Physically, Spiritually, and Emotionally.
1. Physically - because our body is the temple of the holy Spirit
2. Spiritually - because our spirit bears withness with the spirit of God that we are his children
3. Morality - because of the law
4. Emotionally - We have the Agape kind of love.

Congratulations on wanting to change your life!
Acts 2:38 - "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. "
The first step to obtaining salvation is to repent. You must apologize for your sins, and ask God for forgiveness. It takes sincerity. You must mean it. And you must be truly ready in your heart to turn away from the world. Also, have faith that ALL of God's word is right. He obviously wants to do something with you else you wouldn't want this change.
But, because you can't stop at step 1.. I'll just give you the rest...
Next you must be baptized in Jesus' name for the remission of sin. This is the cleansing process. Even Jesus himself was baptized. Not because he had to be cleansed.. but because he was our example.
Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This is when you allow God to come into your body. And His Spirit begins to dwell with you. Many people do not believe in this, but as someone who has experienced it, I can tell you, it's the best feeling in the world.
There are people who believe that you only need to "confess with your mouth and believe in your heart."
Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
That scripture is saying that if you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, then you have faith, and through your faith you can obtain salvation. But the Bible also says:
Matthew 7:21 - "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. "
This is how we know that simply confessing that we believe in Jesus is not enough. We must receive the keeping power he has provided us with. We do this through receiving the Holy Ghost.
Acts 1:8 - "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
But to obtain salvation, we must follow the commandments laid out in Acts 2:38.
One thing I say, and this is for anything in your life. If you don't believe or you have doubts.. always research it for yourself. Ask God to open up your understanding. Have a receptive heart and He will lead you to the truth. Best Wishes!
